I knew I would love this book as soon as I picked it up. It's about a young boy who wants to invite a girl to his party. He wants her invitation to be special so he sends her a letter. In a hurry to mail it he doesn't realize he has hurt his friend. However, she shows up and his entire mood brightens. I think it's a great lesson for children who think having a friend of the opposite sex is not cool!

I loved this book as soon as my kid read it to me. In class my student read this book with such enthusiasm I fell in love with it. It's a simple book with fun characters. Children can relate because it tells them to try and try again. Piggie is determined to fly no matter what. Elephant continues to tell him that he won't fly. Piggie gets help from other friends and flies and inspires his friend Elephant to fly tomorrow.

My niece read this book to me. She thought it was so funny that teachers actually get nervous about the first day too. That's why I liked this book so much. It lets students take a look into their teachers lives. I think it'll be a great first day read to students to talk about how the first day of school is for everyone. I think the subject matter is very relevant and can connect with students and teachers. Mr. Ouchy is very nervous about his first day and can barely sleep the night before. When he meets his new students he finds a way to teach them word meaning, time, and money in one day. His first day is great and he anxiously anticipates his next day that night.

It's a fun and engaging book that will keep your young readers giggling and waiting for more. Readers are surprised throughout as the little mouse continues to run into fun characters. There is a glow in the dark kung-fu worm, a word eating whale, and a party at the end! The story moves at a good pace and keeps you intrigued.

This book is actually really silly. Jessie receives gift after gift to go with the shoes from grandpa. It's repetitive structure is both entertaining and engaging. It connects with adults and children. After receiving a sweater for when the weather is wetter, socks from the shops, a skirt that doesn't show dirt and many many more gifts, readers are surprised that all Jessie wants is jeans. I definitely wasn't expecting that ,but I thought it was a great wrap up to the story.

It tells about Native Americans who were taken from their homes and forced into schools to be taught the ways of the white man. It gives students a look into children their age who had to face some hardships. It is very relevant information for school age children.

This is a graphic novel and it's super funny too. Luey and Miri and their frog friend Phil must go on a search for their dad who is a cat! They find him in the closet which is home to goblins who worship him! They trick the goblins and make a frantic run for it. The goblins are on their heels until their mom shows up. The goblins are terrified of her from their last encounter in the garden in a previous novel. This book is more for entertainment, I don't believe the subject matter can really relate to anything. The plot is actually pretty extended as well and can be confusing.

I loved this little chapter book. It's a series book from my weird school. Students will relate to the main character AJ and his feelings towards school. It's super funny to read AJ talk about his crazy teacher who doesn't know how to add or multiply or anything. Miss Daisy tricks all the kids into constantly "helping her" with different problems. The kids come up with an idea to buy the school and turn it into a fun video arcade. The principal agrees that if they read a million pages he will rent the school for them for one night only. The entire school gets involved and the kids get their video arcade.

It tells about their lives and the people around them before they were THE beauty and the Beast . It's just perfect for big Disney fans. It talks about how Beast was a very difficult child and when he first met the witch. It also talks about his soft spot and his love of music and also his short temper. It also tells Belle's struggle to get along with the neighborhood kids. Belle's love for her father is also clearly expressed. Its a good example of providing background information.

This book is great for creating a picture in your mind. Without seeing the pictures, children could use just the words to try to guess all the many kitchen adventures of the two ants. It would be a fun game and good way to test listeners. It tells about an ant who discovers sugar and the queen sends the entire colony to get more sugar. Two ants decide to stay and have it all to themselves. The next morning they are stirred in coffee, toasted, with bagels, and electrocuted in an outlet. The author does a great job of using descriptive language to say these things without specifically saying it. In the end the ants leave with their colony and find true happiness at home.

It is interesting and tells the story of someone who never gave up on her dream and grew to be a voice heard around the world! Celia Cruz sang lullabies as a child for her brothers and sisters and would have lines outside her window. She joined a famous band called Conjunto Sonora Matancera where she got her big break.

This book has turned into one of my all time favorite children's books. This book is about the friendship between a boy and a tree. As the boy ages he continuously asks the tree for things and she provides pieces of herself including her apples, leaves, and entire trunk to make him happy. In the end he is old and she is just a stump but their friendship lives on as the tree is still able to be there for the boy. It has a message that can be perceived a lot of different ways. To me personally it is a story of a tree whole give anything, including her entire being, to make her friend happy. The boy learns at the very end the simplicity of just appreciating the friendship. For people who are to giving it can be a lesson to not give too much or you'll have nothing. For those who are always willing to take from friends it will show them that they will rob their friends of everything if they continue with their selfish behavior.
