Did you run into problems working as a group?

1. Yes, today was the first off-script rehearsal and it was very hard to work as a group as multiple people did not have their lines memorized. As a whole, our class decided to memorize lines for the next class, I believe that the next class the story will run smoothly as people will know their lines better and the first off-script day is always a mess.

Were you engaged the whole time you performed? Why or why not?

1. I tried my best to stay engaged the whole performance but it was difficult, this was the first off-script and unmanaged by a teacher director run so that was a factor, however, the script ran more smoothly as people remembered the lines better and when people didn't know their lines there were no arguments, etc. I believe the class as a whole will improve by practicing our lines and keep doing these runs.

Why was this run-through important?

1. This was the last rehearsal day before the performance, so it gave us an idea of how much we had to prepare until the performance. We realized many lines were not memorized so everyone took them into account to prepare for performance day. This run-through helped us understand what we had to accomplish for a good performance on the day. Group performances really show the difference between how well you think you're rehearsed compared to the real life application.

What can you do now that you couldn’t before?

1. Before this class, most of everyone including me, was unprepared with lines but by now everyone knew their lines, or if they didn't know them exactly they could improvise to fit the scene. We recorded the party scenes and after that, with little time we still completed some scenes from the second half of the play. As a whole and individually everyone was ready. I think memorization wasn't happening because of the lack of time outside of school to memorize. The pressure of the upcoming performance day forced people to rehearse on their own so I think some pressure was important for it to happen. Just reading the lines out loud helped me do that.

Were you engaged the whole time you performed? Why or why not?

1. This was the last dress rehearsal where we did the whole play in one sitting for the first time. We learned a lot in transitioning between all the scenes and learned the flow of the play. Everyone was rehearsed and pretty much prepared. I engaged the whole time I performed as this was an essential rehearsal. The only chance I would get to rehearse the play as a whole. What helped me engage was really thinking about how my negative effects If I mess up would affect the whole performance and cast so I thought I should focus to be safe.
