Reading brings many benefits to people, such as developing critical thinking, increasing knowledge, and taking the reader on a journey through different worlds and contexts; however, literary analysis is essential to understanding a story in all its splendor. The literary analysis consists of an evaluation to recognize the different aspects that make up academic work. On this occasion, the story of Matilda by Roald Dahl is analyzed; Matilda is a very talented and intelligent girl, but She has unpleasant and carefree parents to the point that they are unaware that they have a brilliant daughter. This book offers unforgettable characters and imaginative situations that make it, by its form and content, a memorable experience for its readers.

Roald Dahl was inspired by his own children, and he routinely made up stories for them at bedtime. Roald wrote Matilda with the purpose of entertaining readers between 8-12 years old, and it is a historical fictional story. Matilda is a genius girl who, at only five years old, is an incredible reader, sensitive and intelligent, but with mediocre and carefree parents who consider her useless. Matilda also develops extraordinary powers and uses them against her parents and the terrible headmistress of the school she attends "Trunchbull."

The intelligent Matilda Wormwood is different from the rest of her family. Misunderstood by everyone and ignored at home, she escapes into a reading world. She went to the library every day when her father worked, her mother played bingo, and her brother went to school. When Matilda was sent to school for the first time, she found a good group of friends, a sweet and excellent teacher named Ms. Honey and a terrible and sadistic principal named Ms. Trunchbull. Ms. Honey discovered Matilda's abilities and wanted to pass her to a higher grade, but Ms. Trunchbull did not want to help her, so during a visit from the headmistress, Matilda discovered her powers and discussed them with her teacher. There, Matilda begins to use her powers against her parents and the school principal until she manages to get Mrs. Trunchbull to return the house and money to Mrs. Honey, her niece and heiress to everything Mrs. Trunchbull owned ever since Ms. Honey's dad died. In the end, Matilda's family goes to Spain, and Matilda lives with Ms.Honey. (Man vs. Society).

Matilda takes place in an English village, specifically at Matilda's home, at the public library, at school, and at Miss Honey's cottage. In the English village, there are a grocery store, a butcher, and a bank, and at school, everything is beautiful except when it is Thursday, and Mrs.Trunchbull comes to the classroom to give an hour of class. The place where the story unfolds is in agreement with what the author wants to express a village in which there is only one school for the children to learn since, in the story, it is narrated that the majority of parents do not care about the education of his children, a bookstore that hardly anyone uses except Matilda and a butcher shop where everyone buys.

Settings must be related to the story so that it has coherence and sequence.

I enjoyed the story a lot because I had already seen the movie and I imagined everything, the part I enjoyed reading the most was when Matilda made Ms.Trunchbull believe that Magnus was alive and managed to make her disappear, and finally Ms.Honey was able to have what she Belonged to him. the ending was a little different from the movie, and it was very nice because there was a little more development.

That is an excellent example for all the children reading this book so that they can adopt the attitude of Matilda and be brilliant children.
