at the end of the ice age, a large lake was created

The high water levels in the valley flooded the entire landscape. Little by little, the water covered large areas of plants, where oxygen could not breach. Because of this, the plants did not decompose into humus but formed peat instead. Over millennia, the valley filled with peat and water, eventually becoming a swamp.

Simona Ascher, one of house owners showed us her garden and how flodded it was

She said that the little river seems very nondescript but that the damage was immense

The city councilor really needs to plan something so it will not happen again

Now the build a little wall to keep the water away but they are not sure how much it will help
