(Intrinsic/Extrinsic)<br><strong>Task Leader</strong>- goals and standards (dictator)<br><strong>Social</strong> <strong>Leader</strong>- Mediates conflict, builds teamwork (democratic)<br><strong>X</strong>- constant monitoring<br><strong>Y</strong>- share control<br><strong>Industrial Organizational Psych-</strong> Studies how managers can best enhance the workplace. <br><br><strong><em>Conflict Motivation:<br></em></strong><strong>Approach-Approach Conflict-</strong> when you must choose between two desirable outcomes.<br><em>Ex</em>: after winning a contest you have the choice between a $100 prize or receiving a very expensive prize.<br><strong>Avoidance-Avoidance Conflict- </strong>occurs when you must choose between two unattractive outcomes.<br><em>Ex</em>: You are assigned two long and hard assignments for school, you have to choose between them.<br><strong>Approach-Avoidance Conflict- </strong>exists when ONE event or goal has both attractive and unattractive features.<br><strong>Multiple approach-avoidance conflicts-</strong> here you must choose between two or more things, each of which has both desirable and undesirable features.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Izard Theory</strong>- 10 basic emotions, cross-cultural, present in infancy, all other emotions are a combination of the original 10. 6 basic are joy anger disgust surprise sadness.<br>Cues of a genuine smile-<br><strong>Genuine</strong> <strong>smile</strong>- Closed eyes, crows feet, lower teeth covered by lips.<br><strong>Standard</strong> <strong>Smile</strong>- Open eyes, no crows feet, lower teeth exposed.<br>Yerkes Dodson Theory- optimum stress necessary for optimum performance.<br>Too much stress=bad<br><strong>Learned Motives</strong>- Form of Social motives but learned through modeling/observation of others.<br>1.Aggression<br>2. Achievement<br><strong>Stimulus Motives</strong>- Unlearned Motives that Encourage Exploration in the world. (Used to obtain information on the World... even when bored!)<br><strong>Smiling-</strong> critical for social interaction, success, attractiveness, success, stronger immune system, lower stress, lower age.<br><br></div>]]></description>
