" What shall we do?" My mind is reeling. I was once filled with strength known by no other man; however, I am now riddled with old age. " Call, Wiglaf to my aide. He will fight with me." After discussing matters with my king and queen, I gathered the strongest men to aide me in defeating the demon spawn, Grendel. We set out on our journey to Denmark to aide Hrothgar. We arrived and were immediately taken to him. Thankfully, Hrothgar remembered by noble father, Edgetho, and welcomed us with open arms for he believed that we were a set by God to aide his kingdom. He then began telling us of Grendel's evil ways and how he depleted Hrothgar's army. However even his grief, Hrothgar gave us gifts to send back to my king and presented us with a feast to toast our future victory over Grendel

Grendel was the name of this grotesque beast. That same night, Grendel arose from his chamber and lumbered to Herot to seek those he could slay. Once he came upon Herot, he found men drunk from the night's festivities. Out of pure malice, he slew thirty of the king's men and escaped into the night. For more than twelve years, Grendel haunted King Hrothgar's kingdom. Finally, news of Grendel's atrocious reign reached our lands. Little did I know that my dreams of meeting King Hrothgar would come true in this form. I knew I had to help my hero defeat this wicked force.

The dragon and I struck each other at the same time and then I knew. I knew I had both won and lost that day. The dragon's body sank to the ground as the crimson light dimmed from its eyes, but I knew I would follow in the same fate too.My once fiery spirit was gasping for relieve as pain racked my body.

My version of Beowulf will be set in the green hills of Denmark. The times will resemble the medieval era and the costumes will follow the same time period. There are 3 characters I focus on, Beowulf, Grendel, and King Hrothgar. The plot begins with King Hrothgar beginning haunted by Grendel in his kingdom. Beowulf hears of this and comes to the King's aide. Eventually, Beowulf defeats Grendel and later returns to his kingdom. As time passes, Beowulf rules his own kingdom and continues his successes. One day a dragon is found in a cave and Beowulf goes to fight it, even in his old age. Both he and the dragon dies.
