My school was designed to avoid competition in the academic setting. I feel it is unrealistic. In everyday life, we cannot always avoid competition. We can foster positive learning environments that are supportive in competitive situations. For example, math games are fun learning experiences. It really about how the teacher manages the student interactions during and after the process to make corrections and connections.
