         <description><![CDATA[<p>Synchronic linguistics: focuses on the structure and funcions of a language at a certain time. It is STATIC. An example of a synchronic study of language is the study of the African American Vernacular English (AAVE) only in the 20th century in the US.</p><p><br></p><p>Diachronic linguistics: looks at language through time, and it is sensitive to the changes and evolution of language through historical events. An example of diachronic linguistics is the emergence of Slang: words that are fashionable at one point in time, and are later considered "out of style"</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>Macrolinguistics: it deals with a wide spectrum of the aspects of language. It also has to do with studying how a language has evolved in different regions around the globe over time.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>For example, a field of macrolinguistics is sociolinguistics, that deals with language and society</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>Theoretical linguistics is concerned with the creation of a theory of the structures and description of a language. Applied linguistics is the application of the knowledge in order to teach, for example, or put it into practice</p><p><br></p><p><br></p>]]></description>

         <title>Point out the main differences between Linguistics and Philology. Which differences should be emphasized?</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Linguistics, on one hand, is concerned with how languages operate and behave in certain contexts. Therefore, it includes specific fields such as phonetics, morphology, syntax, etcetera.</p><p><br></p><p>Philology, on the other hand, deals with specific written texts, such as classical texts or literature. It emphasizes the cultural value of texts and the historical development of language.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>Linguistics is related to language and how speakers use it to convey meaning in different informal and informal context, whereas philology has to do with the language used in written texts.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>Philology focuses on the historical development of language in literature and culture. And linguistics focuses not only on texts and its development over time, but also with the actual use of the language in a certain context.</p>]]></description>

One of its points of study is how speakers convey meaning in different contexts.</p><p><br></p><p>Linguistics is the science that studies language from different points of view.          <title>When and where do you recognize that Linguistics is present in your everyday performance as a teacher, or as a student?</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>It's present as we study it's rules, different accents, and how we acquire the language. Students should be exposed to different varieties of the language, or should know about their existence. Also, students have different ways and processes of acquisition.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>Linguistics is everywhere, whether we are working with sounds, grammar, meanings, or even literature. One of the correlations I find with my every-day practice is the exposure of different varieties and registers of English we try to provide students with.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>Linguistics is present in our daily life as we are conveyning meaning all the time. As a student and teacher, we are developing our language always to transfer knowledge</p>]]></description>
