The recent cyberattacks in Australia led to an increased behaviour of people logging in to check their financial accounts - particularly any they may not necessarily check often - in a short time span (leading to additional software crashes). This also impacted people's perception of reliability and security of big companies that were affected by the cyberattacks.

The recent Microsoft crash caused a huge disruption. I couldn’t fulfill my role as a receptionist, but I was happy because we got to go home early. However, it also made me realise just how reliant I am on digital systems. Without them, I literally couldn’t do my job, which was a bit scary. It made me more aware of the fragility of these systems and how dependent we’ve become on them.
