         <description><![CDATA[<div>-Advice: produce 8h materials for the <strong>middle</strong> of the syllabus (NOT the beginning, because it doesn't reflect the whole course)<br>-USP should be clear and concise (and positive) for your rationale - what are you going to offer the publisher that is new/different/BETTER?<br>-USP should NOT be negative eg. saying what it's not "unlike standard textbook", say what it IS "more opportunity and variety to promote speaking and motivating-autonomy and self evaluations, includes creativity/technology aspects" etc.<br>-when deciding the order of the units, first summarise language concepts to 8 (IF you use CEFR) for example,<br>and choose the easiest one to produce 8h<br>AND/OR<br>-write about the difficulty ordering units in the rationale, and your reasons "I chose to order the units like this because..."<br>-ASK YOUR MENTOR ABOUT THIS</div>]]></description>

Ask Ls where people pray/worship. Elicit feedback and show them pictures on IWB. Drill the names of the places with the pictures.</div><div><strong><em>Activity 1 – 10 min</em></strong></div><div>In pairs, ask Ls to match the religions to the symbols and places of worship in their activity book. Tell them to cut and stick the words and pictures from page x onto the boxes provided. Then show online pictures of the festivals celebrated in the UK <em>(Bon Fire Night)</em>, South Korea <em>(Chuseok – Korean Thanksgiving)</em>, Tanzania <em>(Nane Nane - Farmer’s Day)</em> and Malaysia <em>(Merdeka Day – Independence Day)</em>. Ask Ls to fill in the Portfolio Project Plan (PPP) form in their activity book.</div><div><em> </em></div><div><strong><em>Self-Reflection</em></strong><em> – 5 min</em></div><div>Ask Ls to record themselves speaking using a smartphone/camcorder for 3 min about what they have learnt in Day 3 and encourage them to say how they feel + what they like about the day. Give them 2 min to prepare what to say.</div><div><strong> </strong></div><div><strong>COOLER:</strong></div><div> </div><div><strong><em>Review </em></strong><em>– 7 min</em></div><div>In groups, ask Ls to draw a spider diagram on A3 paper about what they have learnt (festivals) and stick them on the wall.
