🎀 Main Lessons from Verses 284–286

1. Allah is All-Knowing – everything, visible and hidden, will be judged.

2. Articles of Faith – Muslims must believe in Allah, the angels, the books, the messengers, and Islam completely.

3. True obedience of the believers – they say: “We hear and we obey.”

4. Justice of Allah – Allah does not burden humans beyond their ability.

5. Important prayer – the last verse teaches a prayer for protection, forgiveness, mercy, and victory over the disbelievers.

🎀 Main Lessons in Hadith Jibril AS

• Islam = outward practices (the pillars of Islam).

• Iman (Faith) = inner conviction in the heart (the pillars of faith).

• Ihsan (Excellence) = perfection of worship with full awareness.

• The Day of Judgment = only Allah knows its time, humans only know its signs.

• This hadith is often referred to as “Ummus Sunnah” (the mother of the Sunnah) because it summarizes the foundations of Islam.

1. BELIEF IN ALLAH SWT (GOD)

🎀Quran emphasizes Allah’s oneness, creation, and sustenance of the universe.

✨SURAH AL-IKHLAS 

قُلْ هُوَ ٱللَّهُ أَحَدٌۢ (١) ٱللَّهُ ٱلصَّمَد (٢) لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُولَدْ (٣) وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُۥ كُفُوًا أَحَدٌۢ (٤

Say, ‘He is Allah-One and Indivisible; Allah the Sustainer needed by all. He has never had offspring, nor was He born. And there is none comparable to Him.’

🌷HOW TO APPLY THE BELIEF IN THE ONENESS OF ALLAH SWT (Tawhid).

To strengthen this belief, a Muslim should:

• Pray five times daily.

• Reflect on the Quran.

• Observe the order of nature as Allah’s creation.

• Believe in how Allah is described in the Quran and Sunnah.

2.BELIEF IN MALAIKAH

🎀Angels are created by Allah from light. They record deeds, deliver revelations, and praise Allah.

✨SURAH AL-INFITHAR

وَاِنَّ عَلَيْكُمْ لَحٰفِظِيْنَۙ ۝١٠كِرَامًا كٰتِبِيْنَۙ ۝١١يَعْلَمُوْنَ مَا تَفْعَلُوْنَ ۝١٢

And indeed, [appointed] over you are keepers,Noble and recording;They know whatever you do.

🌷HOW TO APPLY THE BELIEF IN MALAIKAH

: Remember that unseen angels witness our actions, encouraging righteous behaviour.

3. BELIEF IN KUTUB

🎀Allah revealed holy books to prophets for guidance.

• Tawrat – Given to Prophet Musa

• Zabur – Given to Prophet Daud

• Injil – Given to Prophet Isa

• Qur’an – Given to Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ)

✨SURAH AL-BAQARAH

الٓمٓ ١ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبُ لَا رَيْبَ ۛ فِيهِ ۛ هُدًۭى لِّلْمُتَّقِينَ ٢

Alif, Laam, Miim.This is the Book; in it is guidance sure, without doubt, to those who fear Allah.

🌷APPLICATION OF BELIEF IN ALQURAN

:Study and follow the teachings of these books, especially the Quran.

In week 1, we had two main agendas first was to introduce ourselves and get to know Sr. Aisya Afrina , and then she explained to us about the "Adab of seeking knowledge".

Our meeting was held in Kulliyah of Science and the ta’aruf session went smoothly. After that, we continued with the main topic of the week, which was the manner to seeking knowledge. Sr. Aisya shared with us several important points regarding this.

Adab in Seeking Knowledge

1.What is adab?

🌷In Islam, adab is more than just manners it covers how we act, speak, and think in a way that shows respect to Allah, knowledge and all creation in this world.

2.Why do we need to have manners when seeking knowledge?

🌷We must have manners when seeking knowledge because knowledge is a gift from Allah, and if we respect it, Allah will bless our learning.

3.Issues: Disciplinary cases among students, ethics an adab: any difference?

🌷Disciplinary problems among students happen when they do not follow ethics and adab. Ethics means general morals like being honest, not cheating, and following rules. Adab means Islamic manners such as respecting teachers, studying with sincerity, and showing good character. In short, ethics are general values for everyone, while adab is special in Islam because it is linked to faith.

4.The purpose of learning: to become a human or to become a commodity?

🌷In my opinion, the purpose of learning is not just to become a commodity, but to truly become a human. A person with knowledge, values, and good character who benefits self and others.

5.Learning has four main purposes. The first is learning to know, which means gaining knowledge and understanding. The second is learning to do, which is about applying knowledge into practice and skills. The third is learning to live together, which teaches us to cooperate, respect, and live peacefully with others. Lastly, learning to be means developing good character and becoming a complete human being.

• When you understand why you are worshipping Allah, your heart feels it deeply.

• You know how to worship correctly and avoid mistakes.

• Your worship becomes more than just habit .It becomes a true connection with Allah.

1. Belief in Qada’ and Qadar (Divine Decree & Predestination)

• Muslims believe everything happens by Allah’s will and knowledge.

• Nothing occurs by accident; it is all within Allah’s divine plan, whether good or bad.

2. Belief in Hereafter (Akhirah)

• Faith that after death there will be

  resurrection.

• On the Day of Judgment, everyone will be held accountable.

• People will either be rewarded with paradise or punished in hell based on their deeds.

3. Belief in Rasul & Anbiya (Prophets)

• Faith in all prophets sent by Allah to guide mankind.

• Muslims must believe in every prophet, including the final Prophet Muhammad ﷺ who completed the message of Islam.

✨REFLECTION

The pillars of iman remind us that everything happens according to Allah’s plan, that all our deeds will be judged in the hereafter, and that prophets are guides who bring Allah’s message to humanity.

✨Lesson

1. Patience and acceptance – Belief in Qada’ and Qadar teaches us to be patient and accept Allah’s will.

2. Responsibility – Belief in the hereafter makes us accountable for our actions and encourages us to do good.

3. Following guidance – Belief in the prophets inspires us to follow their teachings and live according to Islam.

In short, these pillars strengthen a Muslim’s faith and help build good character.

🌟Ihsan

• Means doing good as if we see Allah.

• Even if we do not see Him, we know He always sees us.

• Comes from the word hasana (goodness).

• Includes worship, noble character, and kindness in dealings.

• The Qur’an commands justice (obligatory) and Ihsan (goes beyond with compassion and sincerity).

🌟Belief in the Day of Judgment

• Only Allah knows when it will happen.

• Allah has given many signs:

  • Minor signs: passing of Prophet ﷺ and scholars, disobedience to parents, widespread sins.

  • Major signs: coming of Imam Mahdi, Dajjal, Ya’juj and Ma’juj, sun rising from the west.

  
  

• These signs remind us that life is temporary and every deed will be judged.

✨Conclusion (Sr. Aisyah’s sharing)

• Live with Ihsan, always conscious of Allah.

• Prepare for the Hereafter with good deeds and sincerity.

🌷What is adab?

✨Adab refers to good manners, morals, and appropriate actions

derived from the teachings and instructions of Islam.

🌷Adab vs Akhlak

• Adab: How you behave in front of others (your manners and etiquette).

• Akhlak: Your morals or character (the inner values that guide how you behave overall)

🌷Verse quran about Adab towards parents

✨Surah Al-Isra (17:23):

“And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him, and that you be kind to your parents. Whether one or both of them reach old age while with you, say not to them a word of disrespect, nor repel them, but speak to them a noble word.”

This verse emphasizes the importance of worshiping Allah alone and treating parents with utmost kindness and respect, especially when they grow old. It forbids using any harsh words or showing impatience toward them. Instead, we are commanded to speak gently and honorably.

• Speak kindly
  Always talk to your parents with respect and gentle words.

• Listen carefully
  Pay attention when they talk and don’t interrupt.

• Help them
  Assist with chores or anything they need, especially as they get older.

• Make it interactive – add group discussions, games, or Q&A so it’s not just lectures.

• Use multimedia – videos, slides, or short clips to make sessions more engaging.

• Keep it short & focused – avoid being too long; focus on 1–2 key points each session.

The purpose of creation is to worship Allah S.W.T. as mentioned in Surah al-Dhariyat (51:56):

وَمَا خَلَقۡتُ ٱلۡجِنَّ وَٱلۡإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعۡبُدُونِ

And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me.

Why do we need to perform Ibadah?

• To show taqwa (consciousness and fear) of Allah.

• Every act of ibadah we perform in this world has hikmah (wisdom) behind it.

• Ibadah helps us remain consistent in obedience to Allah.

  
  

Benefits of Ibadah

• Ibadah contains hikmah that guides our actions.

• It prevents us from doing evil or sinful acts.

• Example:

  • Salah prevents bad desires and immoral behavior that can lead to sin.

  • Salah brings peace and tranquility into our lives.

    
    

Important Attitudes in Performing Ibadah

There are two essential qualities that must be present:

1. Sincerity (Ikhlas)

   – performing ibadah only for Allah.

2. Fear and awareness of Allah (Taqwa)

   – being conscious that Allah is always watching.

   
   

Conclusion

As Muslims, we must perform ibadah daily in our lives.
Ibadah not only shows our taqwa to Allah, but it is also a source of hikmah that guides us toward righteousness and a better life.

✨Conditions for a Valid Salah

• Must be Muslim, sane, and have reached puberty

• Free from major and minor impurities (hadas)

• Clothes must be free from any najis (impurity)

• Awrah must be properly covered

• Perform salah within its prescribed time

• Face the qiblah (Kaabah)

• Perform salah according to the correct method

• Avoid actions that invalidate salah, such as excessive movement or anything exiting from the private parts

• There are 13 pillars of salah

✨Sunnah Acts in Salah

• Looking at the place of prostration

• Reciting Doa Iftitah

• Sunnah Ab‘ad (e.g. Doa Qunut – if missed, perform sujud sahwi)

Wudu’ (Ablution)

Improving the quality of wudu’

• Being aware that we are worshipping Allah

✨Things That Prevent Khusyu’

• Excessive doubts (waswas)

• Distracting or meaningless thoughts

✨Ways to Achieve Khusyu’

• Perform salah at the beginning of its time

• Maintain good wudu’

• Clean oneself before praying

• Avoid praying when food is served

• Wear clean and proper clothing

• Pray in a place free from distractions

• Understand and reflect on the meanings of the recitations

📖 Surah Al-Mu’minun (23:1–2)

Surah Al mu’minun : verse 1-2

قَدْ أَفْلَحَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ ١

• Successful indeed are the believers:

ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ فِى صَلَاتِهِمْ خَـٰشِعُونَ ٢

• those who humble themselves in prayer;

✨Allah SWT mentions that those who are humble and focused in their salah are among the successful.

Some virtues of performing salah with khusyu’:

• Salah helps to build good character

• It strengthens our relationship with Allah

• It develops inner qualities such as obedience (taat), striving (jihad), self-reflection (muhasabah), consistency (istiqamah), and humility (tawadu’)

• It protects us from sinful actions

Character Development through Salah

• Not questioning what Allah has commanded

1. Intention (Niat)

Intention is the inner purpose behind what you do.

• In Islam, actions are judged first by intention.

• The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

  “إِنَّمَا ٱلْأَعْمَالُ بِٱلنِّيَّاتِ، وَإِنَّمَا لِكُلِّ ٱمْرِئٍ مَا نَوَىٰ”

  “Actions are only judged by intentions, and every person will have only what they intended.”
  (Narrated by al-Bukhari and Muslim)

2. Action (Amal)

   Action is putting intention into practice.

   In Islam, good intention alone is not enough—you must act when you’re able.

   For an action to be accepted, it must:

   1. Be done for Allah, and

   2. Be done according to the Qur’an and Sunnah.

3. Excellence (Ihsan)

   Ihsan is doing things with beauty, depth, and awareness of Allah.

   Ihsan means:

   • Praying with focus, not rushing

   • Being kind even when no one is watching

   • Doing your best, not the bare minimum

   • Acting with humility, patience, and mercy

📚Verse Al-quran about Fasting :

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ كُتِبَ عَلَيۡكُمُ ٱلصِّيَامُ كَمَا كُتِبَ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِكُمۡ (Surah Al-Baqarah verse 183) لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَتَّقُونَ

O believers! Fasting is prescribed for you as it was for those before you so perhaps you will become mindful ˹of Allah˺

✨What Does Taqwa Mean?

• Taqwa comes from the Arabic word وقاية, meaning protection or prevention.

• It means being mindful of Allah and avoiding what displeases Him.

A beautiful explanation of taqwa:

It is reported that ‘Umar ibn al-Khattab asked Ka‘ab al-Ahbar about the meaning of taqwa.

Ka‘ab asked, “Have you ever walked on a path full of thorns?”

‘Umar replied, “Yes.”

Ka‘ab then asked, “What would you do?”

‘Umar said, “I would lift my clothes and walk carefully.”

Ka‘ab responded, “That is taqwa.”

How Is Fasting Related to Taqwa?

Fasting helps build taqwa by:

• Training self-control

• Increasing awareness of Allah

• Encouraging patience and discipline

Allah says fasting is prescribed so that we may attain taqwa (Qur’an 2:183).

📖Virtues of Fasting

1. Sabr (Patience) & Self-Restraint

Fasting teaches patience by:

1. Obeying Allah’s commands

2. Avoiding what Allah has forbidden

3. Enduring hardships and challenges

Relation to fasting:

Fasting trains Muslims to control desires, stay disciplined, and remain steadfast for Allah’s sake.

Levels of Fasting (According to Al-Ghazali)

1. Minimum: Avoid eating, drinking, and intimacy

2. Intermediate: Guard the tongue, eyes, ears, and hands from sin

3. Optimal: Protect the heart from distractions away from Allah

   
   

2. Rahmah (Mercy & Empathy)

Fasting builds mercy by:

• Helping Muslims feel the hunger of the poor

• Encouraging them to feed others who are fasting

Hadith:

The Prophet ﷺ said:

“Whoever provides food for a fasting person will receive the same reward as the one who fasted.”

(At-Tirmidhi)

DEFINITON ZAKAT

• Literally : zakat means to grow and to increase

• Refers to blessing, growth, cleanliness, and betterment

• Technically : Zakat refers to the determined share of wealth prescribed by God to

  be distributed among deserving categories

• Act of compulsory ibadah which specifically involve the wealth of

  Muslim

DIFFERENCES BETWEEN ZAKAH AND SADAQAH

💫ZAKAH

• Compulsory act of worship

• Formal and structured

• Recipients, amount, and time are fixed by Allah

• Includes Zakah al-Fitr and Zakah al-Mal

💫SADAQAH

• Voluntary act of worship

• Informal and flexible

• No fixed rules on recipients or amount

• Includes all types of charity and good deed

VIRTUES OF ZAKAT

1. TAWAKKUL (Trust in Allah)

Meaning of Tawakkul

• According to Ibn al-Qayyim, tawakkul means surrendering to Allah’s command and decree.

• It is placing complete trust and reliance on Allah SWT in all matters of life.

• Accepting Allah’s injunctions, will, and decisions with full faith.

  
  

Characteristics of True Believers (Quran)

True believers are those who:

• Fear Allah SWT

• Are attentive to Quranic reminders

• Rely fully on Allah SWT

• Perform Salah

• Give wealth in charity (Zakah)

➡️ This shows that tawakkul and giving zakah are closely connected.

Tawakkul and Zakah

• Giving zakah shows a Muslim does not depend on wealth, but depends on Allah SWT.

• It reflects strong faith and trust in Allah’s provision.

• A Muslim believes Allah will replace, increase, and multiply what is given.

2. UKHUWAH (Brotherhood)

• Ukhuwah means brotherhood based on Islamic faith.

• It promotes harmony, peace, and unity among believers.

• Zakah strengthens brotherhood in the Muslim community.
