Today my kiddos did okay with Inner Explorer. I needed to do a normal session and a transition session to settle them down. After that, they were ready to learn. One thing that went well was my students knew the classroom expectations and procedures for Inner Explorer. One thing I need support in is for my kiddos to hear from someone else why practicing mindfulness is important. I feel if they hear it from multiple staff members, they may take more ownership over it.

My students really enjoy the shark fin breathing. Today during a test one student started practice the shark fin and then more students began using it. I appreciate how they are applying the breathing techniques to stressful situations.

My students are struggling to stay quiet and have a calm body during the mindfulness. It does eventually help them calm down but they take about 5 minutes before they can get into it. Any suggestions to help with the extra noise?
