Looking at the contribution and support Christina has been rendering to the people I feel she is not giving quality education to the women in rural areas but at the same time, they are learning life skills. The awareness given to people is helping them to change society and uplift their way of living. It is a great step to make women able to speak up for their rights and to be aware of their rights.

I can see the practice of Global Development Education in the way NGOs have been working. I am strongly inspired by this woman who can bring a positive and remarkable change in the lives of many other women. That is what Global Development Education demands from every citizen to stretch out and flow the knowledge of education to all.

However, there are many examples I see in modernization theory most common and practiced in the use of IT programs and short courses. There is a greater need for vocational and skill-based learning but if we go into the root cause people need awareness. In the country, there are various institutions working who are providing courses on different skills. These can be short and long-term.  At the same time, there is a greater need for the practice of transformative and value-based learning.  Each individual needs to take their own responsibility. 

Like other countries of the World, my country also follows the modernization theory. TEVTA, TCF, and PNY are some of the major institutions working in Pakistan for young boys and girls. These institutions are not only providing them with technical training but also helping them to broaden their knowledge. In some recent studies, Pakistan has come up as one of the popular countries where people are involved in online work. It is giving benefit to the country as more and more people are benefitting.

This study of Global Development Education has made me convince to change my paradigm and be open to new concepts and ideas. It also has given me the opportunity to make my teaching more effective.

 

Yes, I do teach my students about climate change. Even though I am an English teacher but while planning my lessons I make a connection with the climate situation, and I also try to make them realize how can we make it more effective and meaningful for students. 

While teaching poetry related to nature, I make students realize that at present our earth is suffering from exploitation and war. What can be the possible ways to make our environment clean and healthy?

I also engage them with such awareness activities that can motivate them to stop polluting the environment.

 As part of the administration, I also feel more responsible to make students aware to be sensitive towards nature.

How can I improve my teaching, considering what I learned?

I will give them a clear understanding of climate change by showing them a video.

I will check their previous knowledge and teach them about global warming and its effects on our lives

I will organize activity-based work to help them to realize the need for a clean environment such as painting and recycling project work, nature walks, plantation week, no use of plastic bags, speeches, etc.

Moreover, I imagine and strongly desire that each living thing on this planet will have the necessities of life and the freedom to live according to their goodwill without any fear and danger.

Recalling my past and present experiences regarding decision making there are several experiences I have gone through. My experience of making decisions has various effects. The culture in which I have been brought up is more dependent on the family and even relations too. There have been many times I have taken decisions in my life but most of them were still made after the consideration of my family. I have taken many decisions in life but I like to share them with other people either my family or friends to get their opinion as well. It has helped me most of the time.  

However, since I joined the religious life, I have experienced and learned to make decisions myself at times. Leadership roles at different levels have helped me to make decisions which have given me confidence and strength. Recalling my memories, I have not experienced many times directly being involved in decision-making. 

In my personal experience decision-making has helped me to grow in maturity and understanding of things in a deeper way. It has also opened the door to new learnings for me.
