I am an Ed Specialist currently working with an RSP case management and trying to implement a true co-teach model. Our district has historically had special day classes for our more struggling students; however, over the years, it has been moving towards more inclusive settings, but without providing training for my GE cohorts. The struggle is that I can't be everywhere, so how do I help support my colleagues and my students?

I am a SPED SDC teacher currently working in an Autsim Focused Elementary Class.

I have three different grade levels in my classroom. I have no formal curriculum and must create my own. My students are also at very different levels; some don't even know how to read. Most are selectively mute, meaning they only speak when they feel completely comfortable. I would like to collaborate with you to build a scope and sequence for these students in ELA, Math, and Social Studies. I also want to help those who are capable to mainstream and to build the capability in the rest.

My parents want their children to be mainstreamed. Mainstreaming is necessary.

My students are capable of learning high-level things.

I like working with gen ed teachers and wish we could be collaborative

The behavior expectations are to be the same.

Education Specialist in Secondary Education setting

I am a case manager of 18 to 20 mild to moderate high school students. I will generally take on a freshman caseload and keep them for all 4 years, with some students adding or leaving along the way. I also co-teach Algebra. I appreciate my colleagues in Sped and Gen Ed and it is truly a great school.
