This veteran gave his last $20 to the woman when her car ran out of gas on the highway, who then proceeded to create a GO-Fund-Me campaign for him. This generated over $400,000 of revenue. However, the couple deceived everyone by claiming that they were using the money to help the veteran when they really were just blowing it on lavish vacations, a new BMW car, and more. The outcome of this is that the homeless man was left without money while this couple is now being prosecuted and had many belongings and records seized. All the people that donated money were manipulated and their money was essentially stolen, which could lead to people being less trusting on campaigns, leading to less money being donated to causes in need.

(SPI)" falsified test results in order to make their materials more attractive to buyers. This was not made clear to NASA and the U.S. government when they bought said materials for use in rockets. This simple act of deception and greed caused the shell of the rocket to not properly separate as designed. These tests have been faked for over 20 years to customers relying on the tests in order to guarantee the reliability of aluminum purchased. The outcome of this act of deception is SPI agreeing to pay $46,000,000 to NASA, the Department of Defense, and others. However, according to LSP Director Jim Norman, the falsified tests caused a loss of over $700,000,000 and years of people's scientific work over a duration of two failed satellite missions. This could have all been negated had the aluminum manufacturer not used deception as a sales tactic.

However, in recent months, it has been exposed how awful their track record is when it comes to tackling companies committing corruption abroad and in preventing dirty money from landing in Canada. Transparency International's 2018 report "Exporting Corruption" showed how Canada fails to comply with the OECD Convention of Bribery of Foreign Officials. It also shows that Canada had went from "moderate" enforcement of the Corruption of Foreign and Public Officials Act in 2015 to "limited" enforcement in 2018. Canada has been used for money laundering and dirty money for a long time. This act of deception by the Canadian government makes it so that money laundering and bribery is not difficult. The outcome includes lots of dirty money in circulation in the Canadian economy (which dirty or not, helps the economy) and the investigation of how far this goes.

America is attempting its hardest to get China to reform Beijing's illegal and often invisible subsidies which allow an unfair advantage towards any Chinese companies and state-owned enterprises. However, America's tariffs that they are enacting against China aren't helping for a reason not many people know about. The U.S. has its own share of unfair trade practices which discriminate against a variety of imported Chinese products.  It is a fact that America imposes anti-dumping duties higher on China than any other country. Not only have they slowly increased over time, but they have increased alongside new duties being imposed against China. Some of these are completely legal, however, many show how much power and influence of trade-challenged U.S. industries. The deception is the fact that the U.S. claims to be completely innocent when they have unfair trade practices just like the Chinese. The outcome of this is this very trade war which is causing people to lose lots of money.

Deception can be anything; it could be as simple as claiming that someone else ate the last cookie in the cookie jar or as awful as the Nazis convincing German citizens that the Jews were to blame for many things, causing their genocide. Deception can be seen in everyday life and is extremely common. It can be seen as both positive and negative. There are multiple reasons people look to deceive others; first, obviously, it benefits them. If its good for you, who cares if its bad for someone else? This is the mindset some people have, an apathy for others. Some people could simply seek to deceive others just because they are sadistic and derive pleasure in it. The outcome of deceiving is also not concrete; it depends on the act of deception that was committed. It could be good or bad; it could have saved someones life, or maybe taken multiple. It could have done absolutely nothing or it could have made history. I think deception is acceptable if it is done in the name of good; for example, deceiving a child to believe in Santa. Is this done in order to benefit and adult or worsen the child's life? No, it is to bring joy and is simply something that is happy. Another case is deceiving someone in order to spare their feelings. It can be something such as a pet dying and instead saying that they ran away, or explaining some tragic event with a lie. This is done to prevent harm towards the person, not inflict it.
