One of the most fulfilling aspects of running this business was the opportunity to express my creativity. I was in charge of designing and creating phone straps. Designing and crafting unique products allowed me to channel my ideas into tangible items that resonated with our customers. At first, it was hard for me to think about the design and creating the phone straps as I have no experience in making it. However, I been able to do it after watching some tutorial videos of how to make phone straps and exploring some designs from Pinterest. Throughout running this business, I felt so happy whenever there are people ordering our products. It was especially rewarding to see people appreciate my work, which motivated me to keep innovating and improving my designs.

Interacting with customers gave me practical insights into marketing, communication, and customer service. I learned how to listen to feedback, meet expectations, and build rapport with customers. These soft skills, coupled with our business acumen, helped me and my group members foster a loyal customer base.

There were moments of stress when things didn’t go as planned, whether due to supply chain delays, product imperfections, or overwhelming workloads. There were times when I felt frustrated due to the design that I made not meet my expectations after spending a lot of time trying to mix and match the beads. However, these moments helped me develop resilience and problem-solving skills. I realized the importance of self-care and taking short breaks to maintain my mental well-being.

As an accounting student, running this business gave me real-world insights into budgeting, pricing strategies, and profit margins. It bridged the gap between theory and practice, helping me better understand the financial concepts I study. By registering our Go-eCommerce account, my group members and I managed to track our business expenses and profits that we got.

Reflecting on this, running this business has been a valuable experience for me, teaching me lessons in responsibility, adaptability, and perseverance. It was not just about completing the assignment given by our lecturer and earning income; it was a journey of self-discovery and skill development.

I am especially thankful to my group members, as our teamwork played a key role in the success of our business. Together, we managed to exceed our initial profit target of RM100, which was a significant achievement for us. To ensure everything ran smoothly, we divided responsibilities among the team. Each member focused on different tasks, such as designing products, marketing, handling sales, providing customer service, and managing finances.

My specific role was to record sales and track all financial transactions. This responsibility gave me a deeper understanding of budgeting, pricing, and managing revenue. It also taught me the importance of keeping accurate financial records to monitor the progress of the business effectively.

In conclusion, this experience was both meaningful and unforgettable. It not only strengthened my skills in business planning, financial management, and teamwork but also gave me a better appreciation of what it takes to succeed in entrepreneurship.

At first, our team faced difficulty. None of us had experience in crafting handmade items or running a business. We had a lot of problems with our first attempts to make phone straps. Thus, we recognized the need for improvement and we turned to online resources, particularly YouTube and TikTok tutorials. As the project went on, we saw that our work was getting better. The satisfaction of creating high-quality items was immensely fulfilling.

Moreover, this experience taught us about the significance of customer appreciation. We were grateful for every purchase made by our customers, which motivated us to continue refining our products.

When I look back on my experience with Sixfold Sparkle, I can genuinely say that I enjoyed all my time spent with my groupmates. And it was more than just producing and selling our decorated products; in this venture, we developed friendships, shared ideas, and learned together. Each of my group members brought along a unique perspective upon which our project could build.

In a nutshell, the joy we derived from working together in this project did encourage me to seek other opportunities for collaboration in the future.

Starting this business for MPU3222 as a first-year student at UNIMAS has shown me what the business world is really like. It’s not just about selling products; it’s about managing time, talking to customers, and making decisions that affect everything. I’ve learned that planning, marketing, and connecting with people are important parts of any business.

Working with my team has taught me how teamwork makes everything easier. We all bring different ideas, and together we get things done smoothly. It’s great to see how working together helps solve problems and move the business forward.

Interacting with so many people has also opened my eyes to how big the business world is. Every customer is different, and each conversation helps me learn something new about what people like and how to communicate with them.

Running Sixfold Sparkle with my coursemates has been an incredible learning experience that has taught me so much about business, creativity, and collaboration. Our small venture focuses on creating and selling handmade phone straps, keychains, and bracelets. My main responsibilities include sourcing materials, tracking shipments, managing our Instagram account, and handling customer payments. Each task has come with its own set of challenges and rewards, and I’ve grown a lot through the process.

Sourcing materials has been one of the most eye-opening aspects of the business. It requires a lot of planning, problem-solving, and flexibility, especially when dealing with delays or unexpected shortages. I’ve learned how to research suppliers, compare prices, and make decisions that balance quality and cost. This has taught me to think ahead, stay calm under pressure, and always have a backup plan.

Managing our Instagram account has been another exciting challenge. I’ve discovered the importance of engaging with our customers through posts, stories, and replies to comments and messages. It’s about more than just showing off our products—it’s about building a connection and creating a brand people trust. I’ve also learned to stay organized by scheduling posts and tracking which strategies bring the best results.

One of the most memorable experiences was selling our products at the 'Karnival UNIMASpreneur 2024'. We provided customized keychain service for our customers to put their name in the keychain during the carnival. Meeting our customers face-to-face and seeing their reactions to our work was incredibly rewarding. It gave us valuable feedback and helped us understand what people liked about our designs and where we could improve.

Overall, this journey has helped me develop many important skills. I’ve improved my teamwork by working closely with my classmate to divide tasks and make decisions together. Time management has been crucial, as I’ve had to balance this business with my schoolwork and other responsibilities. Communication has been key in every aspect of the business, from talking to suppliers to engaging with customers online and in person.

Sixfold Sparkle has been much more than just a small business—it’s been a chance to grow, learn, and build something meaningful. I’m grateful for the experience, and I know the skills I’ve gained will help me in many areas of life.
