It may not be so popular but it helped shape our constitution. Shay's rebellion was the get together of enraged western Massachusetts farmers and the seizing of weapons. The farmers were in tremendous debt and there was no way to get out of it, the state placed high taxes on the land they owned but the taxes were higher than average farmer makes and so since they could not afford the taxes the state would take their farm and land and throw them into jail. Daniel Shay realized this was not a good way to live and rounded up lots of farmers and they marched towards federal Springfield Armory and were eventually arrested by militia but the government also realized this was not good and changed the government.
