This affected me because I enjoy watching wildlife. Without this program, certain fish could be extinct. This act also protected certain birds such as waterfowl. Roosevelt enacted this because he was an avid birdwatcher himself. The money for this project came from stamps with ducks that cost a dollar.

This Acts still has a very lasting affect on America. This law gave pensions to the elderly. It gave veterans benefits and state welfare payments. It also addressed unemployment benefits, aid to dependent children. Also maternal and child welfare, public health services. This act it still used today with all of the benefits that came with it.

U.S. Post Office Department (1792)

The U.S post office Department was a very beneficial thing that was passed during the new deal. It established official mail routes. It also made it illegal for the post office to open mail. It also set The cost of sending a letter over some 2,400 miles of postal routes ranged from 6 to 12 cents. Franklin became postmaster of Philadelphia in 1737 and then joint postmaster for all of the colonies in 1753. Even though the great depression had a very strong negative impact on the post office it was a very good program to be enacted and is still used today.

WPA

The WPA enacted by FDR was one of the many programs that had a direct impact on California. The WPA stood for Work Program Association and was made in the 1920s to help more people get jobs who couldn't get work anywhere else. Some of the better-known works by the WPA in California are the Acalanes High School in Lafayette and the 75th Street Elementary School in LA. These improvements help educate children and still provide jobs today.

CCC

The CCC otherwise know as the Civilian Conservation Corps had a significant role improving the preservation of the forest. The primary concern was on Forest Fires, architecture, and transportation improvements. By 1941, 8 years after being enacted, the CCC made over 60,000 miles of new roads and over 1000 bridges. They also built over 400 lookout towers. Without the CCC who nows what the forests and public roads would look like in California today.
