Before I couldn’t find books that I liked so I didn’t read much but I went to my friends and now I am reading a ton! Overall this was a great year.

This year was one of the weirdest, but is it ever possible for a school year to be normal? I just want to start of by saying that when I came to this school (In 4th quarter) I felt a warm welcome, better then any other schools. I learned so much things this year such as ancient India, Greece china, and Rome. This year was by far one of the wackiest years of school for me. We have different periods as 5 grade didn't use the period system. Thank you Ms. Fraboni for teaching us the whole year. Who says ancient Mesopotamia is boring? I am really proud of my ELA/SS grades. It came from a B+ to a A- to an A! Every school memory is a good one! I love school!

This was one of the most tough years for everybody. It was new way of learning and was different and difficult to learn but we endured it and we are officially through it. This is year was very different than other years. We were online most of the year and we couldn't do things that we would have done. Though, I still have grown and learned a lot this year. My problem solving skills and listening skills have really grown, because online, there are many problems and you only have yourself to fix them. I also got a better growth midset and presisted in times that there was a problem. I also got to make new friendships that might not have happened if we were in-person. I think that the lesson I learned this year is to not take things for granite and that even in bad times, good thing can come out of it.

When I imagined middle school, I imagined me taking my first step onto the campus with a smile and making new friends along the way. What I didn't imagine was sitting in my dim lighted dining room and watching my classmates join a Zoom meeting, some cameras turned on and some off. Even now I don't know how some of my classmates look like! We all had struggles, but you can't say you didn't smile at least once during the pandemic. I've grown throughout this year because I learned things that my past self wouldn't have known. I'm proud of myself because I improved on a lot of stuff. I can't decide what my favorite memory was this year, there were too many, ha ha, but this year was definitely a memorable one. Sometimes during the school year, I was so distracted with doing schoolwork and listening to teachers talking through Zoom that I completely forgot that there was such thing as the Corona virus. Whenever I forgot and someone brought it up, it always hit me like a brick in the head. The Corona virus has been here over a year, but it still has that shocking effect even now. A big takeaway I had from this year was that we're so far but so close. We're not sitting next to each other and intensely scribbling notes down on sheets while raising our heads once in a while to make eye contact with the teacher. We're not sitting with all our friends at the lunch table, laughing about what they saw during the weekend. We're not playing board games and laughing over videos while it's raining outside. But we're still joining Zoom and entering classes (socially distanced) while greeting each other. And even if other people can't see the smile under your mask, they see your eyes that are sparkling with excitement, curiosity, and warmth.
Yeah, I'm gonna end this before it turns into a long essay about the Corona virus, which it probably already has, but hopefully next year we'll be able to show our bright smiles without having a mask to cover it up. Thank you Mrs. Dorazio and Mrs. Watkins for an awesome year! Have an amazing summer, everyone! ❤️

This year was different from my other years at school. True, it may be different or maybe even a little bit less fun but the fact that we made it through the entire year is something that you should cherish. I am sooooo grateful for my teachers, friends, and family for helping me get through the year! There were some good times throughout school times however, there were some bumps too! I've grown as a person because think about it... I've learned from a completely different environment then ever before! This year has been a very different from all the others. meeting everyone on zoom and all that, I did NOT think I would make ANY friends at all, let alone the fact that we are in MIDDLE school. And ESPECIALLY when there is zoom, but I did make friend(S) And I am very happy for that, and, almost EVERYONE is kind, I thought I was gonna get flunk middle school. And high school. AND college AND my job, and it turns out, I made it through 1/3 of middle school for now, I thought that quarantine would drive me INSANE, but I actually went INSANE and I still am INSANE, mainly because I was tired to sit on a chair for hours and hurting my eyes and getting my but hurt, I am glad that the school schedule WAS short and it isn't anymore, and this year, I have grown taller, I was a little shorter than average back in 5th grade, and now I am now basically average. I have an A on everything (except at ELA because I suck). and I am a little popular(?) probably because I made A BAZILLION jokes every day, and in conclusion, I enjoyed this year and I will see everyone next year (and also joke a lot until everyone is annoyed) have a great summer everyone!

A Close to a Very Eventful School Year

This has absolutely been quite the school year, and although it's definitely had its downsides with not being able to see other peoples' faces since lots of kids keep their cameras off all the time, and struggling in breakout rooms because no one is responding when you ask them questions, it has also been a good one, as we've adapted to the changes that we've had to make, and, best of all, this year has been really fun at times, and certainly been far better than school last March after everything shut down because of the pandemic when we were all in fifth grade. Some of my favorite memories include when Ms. Guardino made the Wednesday planning guide for our advisory class meerkat-themed just because meerkats are my favorite animal, and the awesome breakout room activities that we did over Zoom while in um, breakout rooms. All in all, it has certainly been extremely memorable, and one school year that I'll never forget.

When I first got into this school year, everything was so foreign, and it was a new style and flow, so I was surprised how easy it was to communicate and make new friends. Although we have a huge barrier between us, I don't think that prevented us to keep on going and persevere. It's difficult working on projects together because we never know what each other is doing or silence greets us. It was very awkward, nevertheless, we were strong and persevered through this year. I've grown to be accustomed to this year, even going back in class to socialize more and work better. Something I am proud of is how hard I worked and my grades. They aren't spectacular or astonishing, but I'm proud of myself that I could make it and get good grades, especially under these conditions. Another thing I'm proud of is all my friends and new people I met during this year, as they are probably the strongest and kindest people I ever met, with amazing skills and beautiful personality. My favorite memory is sitting around in a circle during recess and talking to each other, it's extremely calming and gives me a refreshing break from class! With that being said, and the awesome experience I had during 6th grade, I'm positive we will make it to 7th grade and have an amazing year there too, have a great summer everyone and stay positive :).

I really don't have that much to say about the year other than the fact that it was very confusing but worked out in the end. That was all I had to say about The Year, by Finn Storey.

Although it has been a crazy year it has been great meeting these amazing teachers and classmates. I will have tons of memories to cherish and hold. I hope everyone has a great summer and see you next year!!!

Man what a school year from 5th grade to 6th grade. Who could've possibly knew we would've stayed in home doing zoom and missing friends to speak in person, Personally I thought it was a roller coaster so it probably stay in my mind. Next year I hope we stay in person like what we would have. H.A.G.S

This year was hard but we got through it. Which is pretty cool. It was nice going back in person. I am pretty proud of doing good in school this year. I have learned to appreciate everybody and how hard everyone worked. The teachers did a great job.

The School Year

This year was definitely like no other, but I learned how I learn best. I met new people, and yes I still learned a lot. Everything was different in the beginning of the year, but now it feels natural to press on the zoom link. I definitely saw how I can adapt quickly and power though things. I learned about routine, freedom, family, friends, technology, and people overall. So with all the shenanigans, I still had so much fun meeting new people and learning. I'm so proud of me for not going completely insane this year. My favorite memory, has to be memories. My first one is the first real zoom for the first day of school. It was the weirdest thing I've experienced. My next favorite is when I first stepped into the real classes, actually see people's shoes. It was super weird as well.
I can't believe the year is over, I had so much fun, and I'll miss everyone so much. Thank you for an incredible year, and have a great summer!
