Those species with this type of siphon on the end of their bodies are more commonly seen in Florida. But in age of airline travel, bugs get around more easily.

This is the dorsal view of the pupa or the view from the back (3/4 view) so the right eye of the developing mosquito can be seen below and to the left of the right trumpet (breathing structure). The right wing is folded up just above the eye. The folded wings, antennae and proboscis make the abdomen look rather small. A large fiber crosses over the back of the pupa case.
