On November 7th, 2018 a male, who was identified as Ian David Long (28 years old) a marine veteran combat, fired a gun at a country music bar called "Borderline Bar and Grill" in Thousand Oaks, California. The gunman had killed 12 people inside of the bar, including a Sheriff's Deputy. The gunman was dressed in all black and had used a Glock 21 (.45-Caliber handgun) extended with magazine. The high capacity of the extended magazine is prohibited in California and had said to have not bought within the state as it is banned. Sheriff Sgt. Ron Helus was first on the scene along with a California Highway Patrol Officer. After the gunman had killed Helus, within just a few minutes he had killed 11 other people, then later was found dead himself in an office near the front of the bar, which he had appearently killed himself. The Thousand Oaks bar has said to have been the 307th mass shooting in the U.S. in 2018.
