English:

A good physical workout and proper nutrition, enhance athletic development of an individual. A balanced diet provides the body with nutrients for operation and training, well done it enables the body to the proper use of its fuel reserves.
The energy required to perform muscle movements, comes from the utilization of glucose and fatty stored acids.
Glucose is stored in the liver and muscles as glycogen. Liver glycogen is used to maintain stable blood glucose ("sugar") levels, whereas muscle glycogen as a reserve power par excellence, for them. Going decreasing glycogen stores, begins to deteriorate the efficiency and performance of the athlete, causing fatigue.
Fatty acids are stored in adipose tissue in various parts of the body. They are taken from the periphery to the muscles and other organs, where they provide enough power. Provide almost 80% of the energy needs of high performance athletes. However, muscles can work effectively only with NO fatty acids simultaneously need glucose.
A meal plan for an athlete is similar to one for any other person, in terms of variety and type of nutrients, but if the energy needs should be increased. No food or drink alone contains everything an athlete needs to stay healthy and vigorous.
Essential Nutrients
The amounts of each nutrient in people vary according to age, sex, height, weight, body type, the type of sport played, among others.
1 Carbohydrates (CHO) are the most important source of glucose. The canti-dad CHO eat a person, dictate the amount of stored glycogen and therefore, its resilience during the year, but this means that food must contain CHO in excess. It is recommended that 55 to 60% of daily energy requirement comes from CHO, however, depends on the type of exercise can increase up to 70%. The best sources are rice, pasta, potatoes, cassava, sweet potatoes, breads, crackers, grains (beans, lentils and chickpeas) and fruit, but also in the honeys, jellies and sweets, which should be consumed in moderation. There must be a balance between them in each day to ensure good sources of energy and glucose.
2 Fat: are the most concentrated source of energy, by providing nine calories / gram, while CHO protein and only 4 calories / gram. There are several types of fats: saturated, which adhere to the walls of the arteries, are in the skins of chicken and beef, pork and vegetable shortening, fast food, butter, cream cheese, sour cream and coconut oil ; polyunsaturated oils in corn, sunflower, soy, margarine, peanut butter, walnuts and almonds and monounsaturated, heart protective in olive oil and canola, mainly.
Fats are digested very slowly, which makes them NOT a quick source of energy. Intake 20-25% daily, prin-primarily of polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats are generally recommended, as they provide fatty acids and vitamins essential for the body.
3 Proteins: Its main function is to build, maintain and repair tissues, eg, muscle. Muscles can also use protein as an energy source, but require a lot of effort to do so.
It has been believed that athletes and athletes require large amounts of protein, however, can meet the daily needs (12-15%, 1.2-1.5 g / kg / day or up to 1.8 or more, depending on the sport) with a good diet that includes beef and chicken skins, fish, tuna, eggs, milk, yogurt and low-fat cheeses.
Excess NO can be stored by the body and pass into the liver, becoming fat, NO is stored in muscle. Furthermore, diets high in protein causing calcium losses, which can lead to osteoporosis and cause damage to the liver and kidneys, in the long term.
4 Vitamins and minerals do not provide energy, but are vital to the body through the variety of functions they perform. It has been shown that supplementing the diet with high levels of these nutrients does not improve athletic performance or body composition. The variety and quality of food ensures an adequate intake of vitamins and minerals of all kinds.
5 Water and Electrolytes: Water is essential when it comes to athletic performance, as people lose water through sweating during exercise. You need to drink water before, during and after exercise properly distributed amounts to prevent dehydration and decreased activity.
Athletes should NOT wait until you are thirsty to drink fluids and the best way to control fluid loss is to weigh yourself before and after exercise. In some cases, not enough water to hydrate only, so that the moisturizing electrolyte drinks designed. The best known are sodium, potassium, magnesium and chlorine. They play an important role in muscle contraction, nerve impulses and maintaining an adequate level of body fluids.
Potassium, the decrease is associated with muscle weakness, but recovers by eating foods or drinks that contain it, such as orange juice, tomato or banana.
Sodium is obtained with a well balanced diet. Anyway, the sports drinks contain balanced amounts of these electrolytes.
