For teenagers, having a job is a way of making money, just a way of having extra money for our own requirement. It makes one feel independent. Personally, it made me feel sort of like an adult. In a way, it was almost like I had learned real life skills in under 4 months. I will never forget my first job experience.

My position was as an unpaid intern in which I worked out of my home. I did not experience what the entire company was like since my only communication was with my manager. The experience I had was excellent and I learned a lot along the way in regards to what was expected for printed materials and the file formats required. Although it was a quite easy job, it taught me a lot of life lessons throughout those four months.

The most difficult part was working from home. Not because I was lazy, although I can be at times, but the communication was difficult at times. Since my manager was not available at all times I had to wait for answers, which taught me to plan ahead and to think about what I might need before I started working on a specific project. I learned that there was no thing as easy as I thought.

The management can be demanding but it was a great place to work. You don't get a lot of hours in the beginning but if you work for a while and prove yourself, this gets better. At least for me it did. It was also pretty fun to work with those colleagues, more to brothers and sisters but sometimes it can get a bit hectic at times. I was the youngest clerk as I joined right after my SPM examination ended. Everyone was kind and we helped each other in every circumstances.

All in all, my internship has taught me many beneficial things. To always have an open mind and be willing to work in any type of environment. To be willing to adapt to a new work place and to always be respectful and kind to not only my future supervisors, but my coworkers as well. What I have learned in the span of less than four months will always be a big part of me growing.
Great experience
