Mexico 
The main character, Lorenzo, has traveled around as a soldier getting closer and closer to the Alamo to fight the north Americans. During his way, his group decided to stay near an almost dry river/stream. It's more different from the mexican terrain, some places are similar while some places are more rich.

Texas border
This area started to have a huge snow storm, and it caused the soldiers to have a huge delay. Many injuries were caused, and many people died from the cold. Mexico During one night, Bernando, a fellow soldier, tried to flee again, only to get tortured and killed by the chichimecha natives. This shows that it's dangerous to travel around alone in this area, mainly in the night, or even try to flee the army as the natives will kill you.

Lorenzo back then was just a kid who wasn't that tough, and then after marching for a year now past tough times, and experiencing war itself, he became tough just as he says in the quote above.

Memory Moment

My independent book is, "In The Shadows of The Alamo." It's about a teenager named Lorenzo who was unfortunately forced to join the Mexican army. Throughout the story he has to go through a lot of hardships, and sadness through harsh weathers, dangerous areas, etc. And then finally he arrives at his first battle at the Alamo. After surviving, he arrives at another battle which unfortunately failed horrifically, most of the soldiers died, and the General has been captured.
