Interest: This is often considered the most crucial factor in engaging with a task. When individuals are genuinely interested in what they're doing, they are more likely to stay engaged, motivated, and focused.

Authenticity: Authentic tasks are those that reflect real-world situations or have personal relevance to the learner. When tasks are authentic, learners are more likely to see the value and purpose behind them, which can enhance motivation and engagement.

Social Interaction: Human beings are social creatures, and interaction with others can greatly enhance the learning experience. Collaborative learning, discussions, and peer feedback can all contribute to deeper understanding and engagement with the task.

Learning Support: Having adequate support, whether it's from a teacher, tutor, or resources, is important for overcoming challenges and staying motivated. Knowing that help is available can reduce feelings of frustration and increase confidence in tackling the task.

Learner Autonomy: While learner autonomy is important for fostering independence and self-directed learning, it may not always be the primary factor in task engagement. Some learners thrive with autonomy, while others may require more guidance and structure to stay engaged.

Andrea R
