You can find this fine dining restaurant on the second floor of the Rubens at the Palace hotel, 39 Buckingham Palace Road, London.

This place is super  because it survived to the  terrible Great Fire of London back in 1666! That fire basically burned down the whole city, but this house was saved because it was built right next to some tall priory walls (from a church called St. Bartholomew the Great), which shielded it from the flames.

·         When it was built: A long, long time ago—somewhere between 1597 and 1614. That's way before the fire!

·         How it survived: Those cool priory walls around it acted like a giant shield. Later on, in the 1920s, some people wanted to knock it down, but thankfully, they didn't!

·         What happened after: They fixed it up nicely and it won an award in 2000 for being a cool old building.

·         Coolest part: The leaded glass windows have the etched signatures of famous people, like Winston Churchill and the Queen Mother! They used a special diamond pen to scratch their names in the glass. That's wonderfull!!
