Signature Strength Action Plan by

How do I use this strength already?

I use gratitude in my daily life by recognizing the support and strengths in others, both privately and publicly. I make an effort to be sincere in my compliments or thanking others for kind gestures or support. Whether it is to a colleague who helped with a task, a student who showed kindness or positive characteristics, or a family member who supported me in some way. I also practice reflection by taking the time to think about the things I’m grateful for, especially during more challenging times.

In what areas of my life do I use this strength?

Gratitude is shown consistently in my professional life, in my day to day interactions with colleagues. I often express appreciation for the inspiring work of staff and for the dedication and efforts of teams. I also use it in personal relationships; I often tell my kids how lucky I feel and often feel a great sense of gratitude for my family. In both professional and personal areas, it strengthens connections and trust.

In what other areas of my life could I use it more?

I could use gratitude more intentionally in moments of self-reflection. I sometimes focus on what needs improvement or what’s unfinished rather than appreciating my own progress and resilience. Another way I could express gratitude would be with my family. For some reason it can feel easier to express gratitude about work related situations than more personal ones.

What will happen if I achieve my goals?

If I achieve these goals, I anticipate feeling more connected, grounded, and positive. Relationships will likely deepen, my mindset will shift more towards the positives in situations and joy, and I’ll be better able to handle stress. Over time, practicing gratitude this consistently could enhance both my wellbeing, professional experiences and the wellbeing of those around me.
