         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Limoncello<br>What it is?<br></strong>Limoncello is an Italian drink made from lemons. It also contains Vodka, water and sugar.<br><strong>When is it eaten?<br></strong>Italians usually drink this liqueur after dinner. It is very popular around all of Italy.<br><strong>Where it comes from?<br></strong>Limoncello is produced in Southern Italy, especially in the region around the Gulf of Naples.<br><strong>Story/Tradition<br></strong>In 1988 a boy named Massimo Canale started a small business making Limoncello. It is also believed that the drink was made before this time in Sorrento and Amalfi.<br><strong>Fun Facts</strong></div><ul><li>Limoncello is a very popular drink in Italy.</li><li>It is so popular that at one point in the past decade restaurants where giving it away for free.</li><li>Just about every shop in the streets of Sorrento will be full of Limoncello.</li></ul><div><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>What is it? </strong><br>-  La Colomba is an Italian traditional Easter cake made with flour, eggs, sugar, butter, and natural yeast. It is the counterpart of the two well-known Italian Christmas desserts, panettone and pandoro. </div><div><strong>Story/Traditions?</strong><br>-  Colomba’s origins date back to the second half of the 6th century when Alboino, the king of Longobards, after conquering Pavia, received a “curious” gift from a local baker as a request for peace. It was leavened bread, shaped like a dove. He was so charmed by this gift that he spared Pavia from destruction and made it his capital.<br><strong>when is it eaten?</strong><br>It is traditionally eaten during the Easter period <br><strong>Fun fact!</strong><br>- The name comes from the shape of the cake as the name Colomba means dove.<br>- Originated in milan.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Where does it come from?</strong>  Zeppole comes from Calabria, Italy.<br><strong>what is it?</strong> A Zeppole is a small deep fried dough ball covered in powdered sugar, and inside it is filled with either custard, jelly or a butter and honey mixture.<br><strong>Story/Tradition?</strong> Zeppole is eaten on Saint Joseph's day, this is why it is also known as Saint Joseph's day cake. This holiday is annually celebrated on the 19th of march.<br><strong>when is it eaten?</strong>  This is eaten on Saint Joseph's day which is on the 19th of March. <br><strong> fun facts:<br></strong>- zeppole has many names depending on the regions. some people call them sfinge, st Josephs day cake, and Bigne in rome.<br><br></div>]]></description>

The pizza is also known as 'margherita pizza' and is considered a regional speciality.<br><br>It came in from back in the 1700's people from Peru brought tomatoes to Europe and it became a popular topping for flat bread which the italians then turned the basic dish into a basic dough with lots of flavour.&nbsp;<br><br>Can be eaten for any time of the day but is most common to be eaten for lunch and dinner or for an entree. </div>]]></description>

It is a dominant stable food in some northern regions of Italy from the past because it was a well respected food and would be eaten daily.<strong><br><br>When is it eaten?<br></strong>Risotto is more commonly eaten as a side dish but can also be served as a main meal.
