What do you make of the Learning Scenarios concept?

The various phases of the Learning Scenarios can be easily adapted into teaching for example, "Dream"is a phase that could easily be implemented by teachers of every capacity and independent of their teaching environment and the amount of technology available in class. To begin thinking and teach this way then tablets are not essential. With this stage what should be duly noted is the teachers willingness and attitude to promote this method of learning.

Learning by doing is another important key to efficient life-long learning. It needs well-thought out modelling, planning and scaffolding by the teacher. I imagine some difficulties in that: some children will try to use the video technology on the spot without actually planning and thinking about their piece of work. To prevent stress and negative feedback there are the two suggested steps prior to creating, i.e."Explore"-"Map"which are essential to ensure good collaboration in the classroom before proceeding on with "Make". Using this method allows for sound planning which will result in a good and sound end product.

"Ask"and"Remake"are the two phases which are possibly the most constructive for the students, thus they need to be able to reflect on what they have done so far and use the most important resource in the class: the teacher, other students or an external expert.

"Present"is the final phase that the children will always look forward to the most. It is
the big screen event whereby the spotlights are on the students, who can show what they have learnt, by which process they have done this and what the final end product is to their self-created work.

An idea for a piece of content you can produce with your class that has a purpose beyond the classroom activity.

One of the apps that I think would very useful to use with a class is the Easy Portfolio application which has a vast amount of great uses and it serves a fantastic purpose beyond the classroom activity.

The lesson would be based upon the children being interviewed for different Classroom Roles which they need to apply for and be interviewed for. The class teacher would hold the interview and there will be various roles in which they can apply for. The children will use the Easy Portfolio app to build up a portfolio of evidence (pictures, videos, text entry & voice recordings). They can then present this evidence to their class teacher during their 'interview'.

The reason this app was chosen was because the Easy Portfolio is the easiest way to capture evidence of learning within a portfolio.

A variety of records can be added, including:
✓ Photo and videos

✓ Audio recordings or Music files

✓ Web links to online work

✓ Text Entries/Observations

✓ Digital documents direct from dropbox or email
Share a portfolio via email or sync direct to a dropbox account

The video below shows evidence of how the app is easy to use and can be used for children of all ages to show them how to collect and store information within a portfolio style. This will be extremely useful for children as they are growing up in a modern age with technology at the heart of working life. This style of learning is essential to provide well rounded adults capable of adapting to the advances of a progressing digital age.

The App also provides a section that allows for children to each have their own personal portfolio, they use their name to identify their own.

For the teacher it is also a well organised app as it lists the various subjects by which the app can serve different purposes and not just the interview style lesson provided.

An actual piece of content that you can use as an example for a content creation project in your classroom.

The App that I have selected is The Notability App which allows students and teachers to take notes, sketch ideas, annotate PDFs, mark-up photos, record lectures, provide audio feedback and more. It is uniquely designed for each device to provide the best note taking experience at school or for the teacher at home. The app promotes various educational aspects for example:

To Write Naturally

- Handwrite and sketch with ink on the paper section of the app.
- Write smoothly and quickly with zoom-writing.
- Automatic Palm Detection on iPad allows you to write naturally with your hand on the screen, just like pen on paper.

To Type Anywhere
- Notability includes full-featured typing with a wide range of fonts, sizes, and colours.
- Outlines and text boxes help you quickly capture and organize ideas.
- The typing feature allows children to annotate or make notes at any point throughout a document or text.
To make Audio Recordings: Review and Give Feedback
- The children can record themselves reading for example which allows for a chance to self-assess.
- Notes automatically link to recordings, so during playback, you can watch your notes animate along with the recording, or tap them to get to the spot that needs clarifying.Which is a good tool for reflection.
- Teachers can also use these features to provide audio and handwritten feedback to students.
All Electronic Workflow
- Create a paperless classroom -- handout and collect assignments via the cloud.
- Speed-up feedback to students and colleagues using Notability.
- Complete, sign, and share documents in Notability.
To Organize and Share Notes
- Create subjects and simply drag notes into them.
- Share your notes via email, AirDrop, printer, Twitter, Dropbox, Google Drive, Box and more.
Auto-backup
- Dropbox, Google Drive, or Box, can be used to backup your notes and are great for archiving or recovery.

The lesson I have chosen is a Literacy one which is based around the app Notability and a Roald Dahl novel 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory'. It is an example of how a chapter in a novel can be taken and analysed using this particular app to help.

The particular focus here was on the character of Mr Wonka when he first appears in the book and I have created a Flipgram of the steps used within Notability. Both Apps are very good for creating, developing and presenting work.

The video below was created by myself to show you an example of how Notability could be used
