Good morning and welcome to the Scottish Ambulance Service. My name is Vicki Watmore, one of the Clinical Training Officers based at National Head Quarters in Edinburgh. I will be monitoring this padlet for any queries you may have.

Apologies in advance, I will have to leave for a couple of hours in the afternoon 2-4 for an appointment however I will check before and after I return for any questions posted.

Driving Assessments

Just a small note. It would be beneficial if you could bring with you tomorrow ,in preparation for driving assessments, your driving license and DVLA check code. The check code can be a hard printed copy or the electronic code that we can then type in to the DVLA website to cross check points etc. I have posted the DVLA website address that you can obtain this from.

The driving assessments will take place throughout the week but most likely will take place on Wednesday.

Accessing documents

Hi Vicki. I'm trying to access the various policies at the bottom of the clinical induction Sway (OHCA,Airway care, decision making and paediatrics). When I click on any of the links it asks me to log in but I havent been given an SAS email address yet so cant access them. Can these be sent directly?

Thank you for sharing the guidelines, I had a two queries I was hoping you could clarify...

Paediatric Guidelines 8.2 & 8.3

Under 2 conveyance - Is it accepted, if clinically appropriate and with no safeguarding concerns, for the patient to attend A&E with their parents directly as opposed to being conveyed in an Ambulance.

8.3, also states that all patients 2-16 will be conveyed unless there is an agreed alternate pathway, can this be an alternate referral or do you need to physically have a clinical discussion with who you are referring to? E.g. couldn't refer to own GP at night because the GP couldn't speak with you to agree...

I'm just wanting to clarify, as from experience these are some of the most varying policies between services/areas...

SAS Guidelines

I have had some queries regarding not being able to access SAS specific guidelines. I have put them up on here for those still having difficulty. However for some reason I am unable to upload the Clinical Decision Making Framework.
