If i die young-the song is about dying at a young age, which unwinds do
Purple rain-purple rain is an expression used when there’s blood in the sky, red+blue=purple. The song is about sticking together when your world is ending
Elastic heart-the lyrics “I’ve got thick skin and an elastic heart, but your blade it might be too sharp” reminded me of the unwinds in a metaphorical and literal sense. 
These days-because the lyrics reminded me of what might happen in the future with Connor and Ariana. 
Everybody-the lyrics “everybody people, everybody bleed, everybody need something, everybody love” reminds us that all people are people, and unwinding is still taking someone’s life. 
If everyone cared-these lyrics speak to me every time i listen, “if everyone cared, and nobody cried, if everyone loved and nobody lied, and if everyone shared and swallowed their pride, then we’d see the day when nobody died”
Lean on-this song is about having someone to “lean on” when you need them most, and it’s sort of a rebellious themed song.
