This can make the amount of fear greater in certain students when it comes to talking out in class, but as teachers, you can encourage a positive environment as opposed to a negative one. Some students probably struggle because they feel threatened or pressured, and we as teachers should strive to make the environment more comfortable. More often then not I've found myself embarassed when I've given an answer in class, not because people meant to hurt me, but they way they jokingly responded hit home the wrong way. Now, im kind of having to relearn how to not be afraid. My opinion is always different and I'm afraid of backlash. Teachers shouldn't let students go back and forth so much because it makes kids afraid to talk in class and voice their thoughts and they lose that learning opportunity
