Word Poster - Vertigo

This poster was the first of many posters I would create for this class. I originally made it using shapes in varying sizes to best represent the effects of the word Vertigo; the specific feeling of warped motion and annoyance. Although I started with shapes and it made it fairly simple, the decision to add text to the document was meaningful. Instead of plain shapes, I was confident in adding text in order to show an expressive view of the effects of Vertigo.

Food Poster - Watermelon

Although this poster started out fairly simple as only a watermelon in the center of the document, I knew I could make this poster much more advanced from its beginning.

By making my watermelon asymmetrical, adding a large bite taken from it, and a showering of seeds, I successfully demonstrated my ability to produce motion in my graphics. Static, boring shapes became a flowing jitter of motion. Adding a monochromatic finish of purple made the poster easy to distinguish what my food was even without using the basic red and green. The color choice also made a gentle, flowing nature of both the motion and graphics to the viewer.

This was one of my favorite projects to work on of the year. I changed how I would represent my cause graphically multiple times throughout the work, and finally found my most effective way at the end of the assignment.

What I feel I did most effectively in this poster was the text. Using Text Hierarchy, I was happy with discovering how I could divide my text into a Attention Grab, Inform Reader, and the Action I want them to take for the cause. With this in mind
