The field of reads is where you would go if your heart was the same weight as a white feather (a symbol of justice and truth) when the scales were balancing Anubis would then ask you to confess your sins. If you were trueful you would go to the fields.

Afterlife beliefs impacted everyday life in ancient Egypt in many ways, one of these ways being art. For example the walls of the tombs of ancient egypt were covered in the journey the deceased person would take to the underworld. And then when they reached anubis they would then weigh there heart against the feather of truth.

1. Death - Ancient Egyptians would be prepare for the afterlife by buying many things such as having the book of the dead

2. mumification - The recently deceased body would then be. gutted and have all organs removed and but in a jar (besides for the heart)

3. items - items would then be put in the tomb so they could take it into the afterlife

4. burrial - they would then cover the sarcophagus in a box. in the box around the sarcophagus there would be the items.

5. Afterlife - The deceased body’s spirit would then travel to the afterlife with there items to the hall of truth to have there heart weight

Every Ancient Egyption was buried with the book of the dead (the image presented on the padlet) and was a guide in the afterlife to the field of reeds.
