Fillipo Brunelleschi, also known as Brunelleschi was an amazing architect and engineer he thought up new inventions and ideas that no one else could think of. His most amazing works was the florence cathedral (owned by the Medici family) He designed and made the aid for the machines and helped him make the florence dome so the builders wouldn't have to climb up the hundreds of stairs with bricks or else they would be very tired before they even start to work. Before Brunelleschi was and architect he worked as an an artist and sculpture he made many pieces of art such as the san Marco Firenze the sculpture idea was from his discovery of linear perspective and how he look at things fro a 2-D and 3-D side of things.

One of Brunelleschi’s most well-known works is the Cathedral of Florence or the dome of Florence. The Cathedral was already built but the dome was very hard to build at the time because it was 55 meters above sea level. Technology wasn’t advanced enough to lift hundreds of tons of stone up so high. For decades it was left alone and forgotten about. Some people of Florence were born and died under the shadows of the cathedral.

Sometime after the construction of the cathedral Santa Maria made a prize of 200 gold florins (Roughly $60,000 USD – $81,600 AUD very inaccurate answer, hard to get exact value) and eternal fame. Many architects visited Santa with good plans but the one that stood out the

Most was Brunelleschi’s. He would use sand stone to build the dome, the best part was you didn’t need scaffolding in the building process, the structure was self-standing.

The problem was getting the tons of stone up there; it took weeks for Brunelleschi to come up with a design for a machine with gears that went from small to large so it was like a 10 to 1 gear. It was slow but it was only powers by 1 yoke.

So construction began in 1420 and was finished in 1436.

Filippo Brunelleschi was a very important man of the renaissance. His work on the cathedral was very much taken for granted and was very much appreciated for most of the people of florence. Brunelleschi was an excellent draughtsman ( The amazing book of architecture by:) Brunelleschi was an amazing architect though he was no the nicest man to many people ( Youtube video by scishow) Fillipo Brunneleschi found out about linear perspective by using the optical and geometric principals upon which brunelleschi's perspective devices were based, the artists of his generations were able to produce works of astonishing realism. On two-dimensional surfaces they were able to create extraordinary illusions of three-dimensional shapes tangible objects, so that the work of art appeared to be either an extention of the real world or a mirror of nature. In the middle of the building there is a grid , designed by bruneleschi it is the main part of the building stoping it from all collapsing under its own weight, it represents the intelligent problem solving man he is it also shows his architecture skills. At the bottom there are holes in the building
(Windows) this is where Brunelleschi's famous pieces of machinery come in; he attached the machines to the windows and carried the bricks up and down with the machines a numbers of times a long with many other tools and machinery until until the florence dome was fully complete.
