On the third day of our trip to Brussels we started at 7 o'clock with breakfast in the youth hostel.  

Then we walked to the EU district, where we visited the “EU Parlamentarium” which is like an information tour for the European Union. It was interesting, especially because of the digital aspects like the small devices they gave us and many screens where you could dig in topics that excites you most about the EU.  

Afterwards we had lunch in that district which was nothing special.

At midday we had a meeting at the “Ständige Vertretung Österreichs” where they told us about the European Union and especially about the different components, like the Parliament or the Commission and what their main function is. Finally, we had a Quiz about the EU in general.

Thereafter the highlight of the day was our visit in the Parliament and the meeting with Simone Schmiedtbauer. She told us about her function and what she does in the Parliament, she also gave us general information. It was a very nice part of our trip, and we were also able to take a look at the huge rooms of the Parliament where they are discussing laws. Following they gave us bags with small gifts.

In the evening we had free time, and we went for dinner in the inner city. After a stressful but interesting and informational day we went back to the youth hostel.
