Martin’s inspiration led me to studying Entertainment throughout highschool which has now led me to where I am today.

The track to me was a masterpiece, from the sheer passion of the vocals to the incredibly powerful drop. This song has influenced me to learn more about music creation as a whole and especially how they created the vocal chop for the drop. I continue to listen and enjoy David’s music on a daily basis.

Years later I heard their track “The Reaper”. This was the first song of theirs that I had on repeat for weeks. Watching various videos on recreations of the song led me to understand a lot about how their music is made, inspiring me to attempt to create similar sounds.

Tiësto has been a huge inspiration for many in the industry however Martin states that he owes everything to Tiësto, seeing Tiësto play live at the 2004 Athens Olympics at just eight years old Martin knew exactly what he wanted to do from then on. Prince Rogers Nelson known as Prince was an American composer known for being able to professionally play any instrument (Walser, 2018). Prince began his career with funk and soul. His track “Little Red Corvette” saw him on MTV which at the time was nearly impossible for black artists (Walser, 2018).

Pharrell became fond of saxophonist Chad Hugo, and both became quick friends, pairing up and calling themselves “The Neptunes”. In 1992 the group created a verse for Wreckx-n-Effect and their most popular track “Rump Shaker” (Kellman, n.d.). This left the pair highly demanded which shaped both of their careers (Bauer, 2019).
