While this might also be rewarding, it doesn't guarantee a rewarding group experience. However, promoting connection between team members and being purposeful in allowing everyone on the team a chance to offer suggestions, share their perspective, show their strengths, get assistance where they need help, and equally participate tends to make all the team members feel successful and rewarded.

Hi Eric,
I agree it's important that everyone believe the project is shared. I've been a part of many group projects and committees. I think when you're with a group for an extended time, or its an annual group event, it's easy to get used to doing things our own way. I've experience truly rewarding and successful groups who shared in responsibility and I've been in groups where one person wanted to run the show and just made every step miserable. I learned a lot from this experience and try to be as open to other members of any group I'm a part of as a result.

Once a group takes ownership, then I feel true cohesion can begin. So, for me, I need group members that are equally passionate. If they are like me and desire the best possible outcome, then I know that they’ll give support and constructive feedback that is necessary for the development of a great product. But, if they are not as invested as myself, then I know that my ideas will not be critiqued and the overall product will be lacking.
