I agree it's important that everyone believe the project is shared. I've been a part of many group projects and committees. I think when you're with a group for an extended time, or its an annual group event, it's easy to get used to doing things our own way. I've experience truly rewarding and successful groups who shared in responsibility and I've been in groups where one person wanted to run the show and just made every step miserable.
