         <description><![CDATA[<div>Indian Literature is believed to be the oldest in the wolrd. Indian LIterature is Classified into Shruti Literature and Smriti Literature.<br><br>              <strong><em><mark>SHRUTI  LITERATURE</mark></em></strong><mark><br></mark> ~ "revealed of the heard" which are written in the Vedas and Upanishads. <br>The Vedas are the most renowned asset of mankind; Rig Veda as the oldest literature work in the history of the mankind.<br><br>                <strong><em><mark>SMRITI LITERATURE</mark></em></strong><em><mark> </mark></em><mark><br></mark> ~ "that which is remembered" <br> ~includes guiding principle for beliefs, moral obligation, social codes, and customs.<br><br><strong>*Arabic Literature<br>   </strong>~was first created during the 4<sup>th</sup>  and 7<sup>th </sup>century. <br>   ~short personal qosida (odes); usually express love of nature, bravery, themes of love, struggles, pursuit, and most of  all the supremacy of God. Well-known poets are <strong>Amru al-Kais,  Antara</strong>, and <strong>Zuhair</strong>. <br>   ~<strong>Arabic prose</strong> became available and the Arabic language became a vehicle for science and philosophy. The succeeding period of Arabic Literature was the outcome of the rise of the new Arabic-Persian culture in <strong>Baghdad</strong> <strong>(capital of the Abbasids)</strong>  in the 8<sup>th</sup> and 9<sup>th</sup> centuries.<br>   ~ "<strong>One Thousand and One Nights</strong>"  and  Omar Khayyam's "<strong>Rubiayat</strong>" were the most loved and read Arabian Literatures.</div>]]></description>

         <title>       In the Field of Painting</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Indian visual arts were firts discovered in primative cave or rock printings. These paintings usually depict animals and scenes of human activities in  the ancient times such  as hunting.  The paintings of Ajanta Caves  are the most significant early Indian paintings.<br><br>Indians paintings have evolved from being basically religious in purpose to a fusion  of various cultures and traditions. <br><br><strong><mark>MURALS</mark></strong><strong> - </strong>large artworks done on the walls of solid structures.<br><strong><mark>MINIATURES</mark></strong> - done for books or album or drawn on paper or cloth.<br><br>Moreover, with the spread of Buddhism, Indian paintings were usually done on the  walls of palaces and houses of the well-to-do Indians usually done on stonewalls and surfaces. <br>Islamic paintings usually picture elements of repeated geometric floral and plant designs known as arabesque. Used to symbolize the supreme, united, and enless nature of God.<br> </div>]]></description>

         <title>Indian Sculpture and Architectures</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Indian architecture began with the Harappan civilization. The Harappan <strong>"Great Baths" </strong>and urban planning skills proved them to be skilled in construction while the stone images  of their gods and seals reveal their artistry.<br><br><strong>(1) Arjuna's Penance</strong> is known as one of the biggest stone carvings in the world. This sculpture comprises over hundred figures of earth creatures as well as gods. <br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><strong>(2)</strong> <strong>Agra Red Fort </strong>(2nd pic)<strong> </strong>a colossal structure on the bank of river Yamuna.<br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong><mark>CHESS</mark></strong><strong> = </strong>the game has been known in India by the name of Chatur-Anga.<br>The word <strong>"checkmate" </strong> was evidently from Shan Mat, which means, "the king is dead".  <strong>"Raksha"</strong> is also used, which means a soldier <strong>"to protect" .<br><br></strong><strong><mark>PLAYING CARDS </mark></strong><strong>= </strong>All these cards were themes from the Ramayana and Mahabhrata. These were hand made and painted in the traditional style. The popular card game also originated in ancient India and was known as Kridapatramas.<br><br><strong><mark>MARTIAL ARTS</mark></strong><strong> =</strong> ancient India claimed to have been the origin of judo and karate. Buddhist monks traveled barefoot and unarmed, they accepted this art as an alternative to violence. As the Buddhist monks traveled, these martial arts were transmitted to China, Korea, Japan.<br><br><strong><mark>MATHEMATICS</mark></strong> <strong>=</strong> Algebra also came  from the Arabs who also made advances in Trigonometry. Al-Khwarizimi, the inventor of algebra.<br><br><strong><mark>ASTRONOMY </mark></strong><strong>= </strong>the Arabs enhanced the astrolabe with religion in mind. Through astronomy, the Arabs were able to chart the zodiac, and to define the length of a degree.<strong><br><br></strong><strong><mark>MEDICINE</mark></strong><strong> =  </strong>it was the Arabs who pioneered and improved the therapeutic arts of ancient Mesopotamia and Egypt. Thus, Al-Razi was considered an authority on infection. Ibn Sina, an Arab, was considered in Europe as the greatest writer of medicine during Middle Ages.<br><br><strong><mark>HORTICULTURE</mark></strong><strong> = </strong>gave rise to the production of different products in Europe. It was Al-Filahat and Ibn al-Awam who discovered the method of grafting, soil conditioning, and the curing of diseased vines and trees. Civilization is also indebted to the Arabs from Syria and Phoenicia for their cosmetics such as lipsticks, nail polishes, eye shadow, and others.<br>  <br><strong><mark>CRAFTS </mark></strong><strong>=</strong>  the Arabs raised small-scale crafts to perfection. These small-scale crafts are made up of glassware, ceramics, and textile weaves. Arab were also keen in silk weaving. Arab linens made of Muslim cotton, and Shiraz wool became bywords for equality among Europeans <br><br><br></div>]]></description>
