I was born in Norfolk, Virginia at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. I have lived in the Chesapeake region of Virginia for most of my life and it is where I currently reside. According to my mom I couldn't wait to be born and the doctors had to catch me quickly. I was a pretty happy and content child, meaning I had a lot of trust for those around me that were caring for me. The only thing I didn't trust at the time was when I couldn't have my way all the time, which made me question whether or not I could trust the response of my parents at time. This aligns with Erikson's stage of psychosocial development trust vs. mistrust.

This was when I graduated Kindergarten. I had a lot of fun in kindergarten, but spent it in two different schools. Initially, I was going to pre-k in Chesapeake, but once my dad was stationed in Northern Virginia I finished the rest of the year in a preschool up there. I made a lot of new friends and had a lot of fun. My favorite memory was going on a field trip to a strawberry field and getting a dirt baby to take care of! I always insisted on doing all of my homework by myself, which marked the start of my independence, which is a part of the autonomy vs. shame and doubt stage of Erikson's psychosocial development.

Throughout 2020 and the COVID-19 pandemic, I struggled to find myself and maintain my own personal identity. During this time I became really obsessed with anime and doing other things that my friends liked. Throughout this time, I also lost myself and confidence. This caused me to become very self-conscious and more introverted, which was a drastic change from who I was before the pandemic. I consider this to be identity vs. role confusion, as I was confused about who I really was during this time.

During the summer of 5th grade, my other little brother, Noah, was born. He was born in Chesapeake Regional Hospital. I loved having another little sibling because it meant that I could take care of him like he was one of my barbie dolls. As the oldest sibling, I was mostly responsible for looking after him, changing his diapers, and keeping him entertained. Being able to help raise him was one of the most definitive and exciting moments in my life. I think that this can align with industry vs, inferiority as I was developing skills and taking responsibility for my new sibling. Contributing to helping my mom caused me to be praised for helping out, making me feel confident in playing such a significant role in his life.

Something I enjoyed doing when I was 5-6 years old was doing cartwheels, handstands, and flipping in my great grandparents backyard. This aligns with the initiative aspect of the initiative vs. guilt stage of Erikson's psychosocial stages of development. I was never discouraged from doing tumbling, which was something I enjoyed. My great grandpa referred to me as the future Gabbie Douglas. I was only ever scolded if what I wanted to do was perceived as dangerous or harmful.

After another four years of college, I will hopefully graduate medical school and get matched to my desired career in a close place of residency. Before starting my residency I will have to save up a lot of money and hopefully have my husband be the sole provider of income for a little bit.

After many years of dreadful schooling and residency, I will hopefully finish my residency at a hospital close to home so that I can finally start my career as an anesthesiologist. After residency, I will hopefully secure a job at the same hospital and make a good amount of money.

After a long, fun, and successful life, I will be the age 98 and finally meet my end. At least by this time I will have hopefully met all my goals and aspirations in life. This will be the time I reach the final stage of Erikson's psychosocial development, which is ego vs. despair. I will reflect on my life and my many accomplishments with pride and satisfaction, fostering my ego. I will peacefully leave this world during my sleep, ensuring that my last day is as peaceful as the last years of my life were. I would also like to be buried in a pretty casket, preferably incorporating the color pink and having gold embellishments.
