My interpretation to the short story "The Prisoner Who Wore Glasses" is that bonds you can get by standing up for what he thinks isn't right. Like when he stood up to Hannetjie because he didn't think it was right that he took everyone's three meals away for what he did. So after standing up for things didn't think was right "From then one Span One did very much as they pleased while Warder Hannetjie stood by and said nothing. But it was Brille who carried this to extremes.

The special bonds in the short story "The Grasshopper and the Bell Cricket" tells us that not everything is as it seems from the outside. And that working together on one subject can bring people closer together. The little boy realized it wasnt a grasshopper and it was a bell cricket and said "Oh! It's not a grasshopper. It's a bell cricket. The girl's eyes shone as she looked at the small brown insect. " (lines 80, page 135)

The bonds in the science writing "Monkey See, Monkey Do, Monkey Connect" shows us the bonds with animals. The bonds we have with our pets is very special because pets can sense all our emotions.
In this story they talk about how laughing is contagious and that apes need to see someone doing something for them to do the same action. And this is the same for most animals. Frans de Waal said " You're in a flock of birds and one bird suddenly takes off. You have no time to figure out whats going on: You take off at the same instant. Otherwise, you maybe lunch." (line 52-55, page 124)
