         <title>Results for Soil Comparisons &amp; Basic Percolation Tests by The Wilson School 5th Grade Space Wolves Team ID 23301</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>We completed the extension activity #3. We had so much fun! </p><p><br/></p><p>In comparing soils, we did not know that potting soil was so soft and that the clay soil from our schoolyard was so hard. We are thinking from our results outlined in our data table that we should mix potting soil, compost (for nutrients - so dark in color), and Martian regolith with some gravel and sand at the bottom to allow drainage of water. </p><p><br/></p><p>For the percolation tests, we were not surprised that gravel had the highest rate since it has so much space for the water to flow through. Most of the class thought that the Martian regolith would have the slowest percolation rate since it looks like sticky sand, but we were surprised at how SLOW the rate was, as it barely let any water through in 30 seconds. </p><p><br/></p><p>Enjoy our video and our photos!</p>]]></description>
