Performance Standard - Computer Science - K6

In the topic "Observe properties of soil, sand", I would make bring a #D model of a beach with sand and I'll show my students. Later, I would like to take them in the school field and give them a garden lesson. A tour outside the class room in nature will help him determine what differentiates soil from sand. This practical approach would help them clear the concept that "Soil is the top layer of earth while sand is a loose material of rocks and mineral grains." This is not the only method how my students can learn about the differences. Use of multimedia would be profiting too. This works on the visual and audio abilities of the students collectively making them more engaged and alert in class.

*Were you aware of these standards for K-6?
Honestly, I wasn't aware of all the standards earlier but once I read through I must say there was an increase in my knowledge. This is provided in order to diminish any misunderstanding related to the topic and help what activities would assist in clearing the concepts.

Social Media is beneficial to reach far and wide these days. I believe it is a healthy way to keep connected. Math is all about a student's grasp on the concept. You can always learn where ever you are. Whether its the Christmas holidays you can still stay in touch, if studying is made fun via the smart use of social media. I would like to utilize this mode only on weekends as its the free time for all and a quick recap of the concepts would do no harm. On Facebook I would like to create a closed group where I would post weekly 1 video and 2 to 3 images teaching my concepts in a friendly yet an astute manner. Example below is explaining the concept of Ones, Tens and Hundreds.

Digital Tools Beneficial Grade-2, Math

In this era, we as teachers must strive to make education as knowledgeable as we can. Integrating the use of "Digital Resource". Students these days are technology enthusiasts and internet savvy too. Use of Gadgets such as Tablets increases their interest and their sense of perception is better. I think Symbaloo is advantageous as never one has to type in an address manually, Moreover, with one click you go anywhere on the web. Also a teacher needs to be very organized and its use assists in a way that you never lose your favorite websites again. Its like storing all the significant information on an "assistant brain."
Simultaneously, I would like to use it once a week in class. It would be teaching Math in a versatile manner in order to nullify all misconceptions. For example my topic is 'Time', so Symbaloo is like my assistant, I'll know first to need to go on the webpage where I think would help in building the base of my students concept. An image of 1 minute = 60 seconds is the first information I need to provide my students. Next I need to show a slide show of a step by step guide, as to how time is divided in day and how to solve time related question. I think using this medium once a week would also help my dull students to get a firm grasp on concepts.

Tools - Innovation

We teachers have the utmost duty to deliver the best of our abilities in our area of expertise. Innovation and eLearning gives maximum opportunity to obtain as much knowledge as we can. This is cost effective and yields consistent results. Very quick to update as well. In my opinion this is a clever choice to enhance creativity too as imagination can not be bounded to a single subject, it applies everywhere. It would be effective in my class because when I introduce a new mode of teaching, students wake up and they want to learn through an intelligent adaptive technique of gaining knowledge. Thus it would be fruitful in the topics of "Division" which students dread mostly but through a sprinkle of color and power of quality instruction with quality tools. Elearning for them would become a learning spree, where through my strategic planning their educational experience would be pleasing and productive at the same time.

I want to use Facebook as it is something all students and even the parents of the students know. It is easier to use and even parents can keep a watch that over the weekend students indulge in a healthy activity where through the safe use of internet, children are collectively learning and polishing their concepts in a very cozy, interactive yet a profitable manner. They're able to speak their minds and question answering session is always appreciated.
