         <description><![CDATA[<div>K1 Jade Project: How do seeds disperse? To end off term 3, the Jade children created an interactive book for their project. The children were able to read the book and show a demonstration of the different ways that seeds disperse. Wind: making spinning paper maple seeds. Water: making a sprouted coconut. Hooks: making felt animals/socks for the Velcro “burrs” to hook onto. Explosion: making Pom-Pom shooters. Animals: creating a paper mache mouse that would eat fruits and expel seeds through its dropping. The children learnt about the importance of seed dispersion and decorated the book with a boarder of ABB patterning that we’ve learned in the term</div>]]></description>

         <title>N1 Beryl – Paper Mache Fruit Bowls</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In Term 3, the Beryl children learnt about different kinds of fruits and were curious about how their interior looks like hence we decided to make 5 different paper mache fruit bowls, watermelon, lemon, kiwi, apple and orange. Firstly, they mixed flour with water to make the “glue” to stick strips of papers together. After it dries, they painted the exterior of the bowl and pasted different materials in the interior that resemble the fruits. Lastly, they added the seeds by dotting black paint in the bowl with chopsticks. The children were really proud about their fruit bowls and were able to identify the fruits by its exterior and interior colours too!&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

They also shared what are the natural disasters that we might face and what do we do when facing such a situation.<br><br>In small groups, they created a scenario of what could happen during a natural disaster using loose parts and recycled materials.</div>]]></description>

         <title>N1 Amber - Insect Pencil Holder</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Amber children studied insects in Term 3. We chose to build a pencil holder out of plastic water bottles and other art materials to showcase different insects and identify their body parts for our creative project.<br><br>The first step was to paint the plastic bottles. While it dried, we constructed the head out of air clay and colored some paper to form wings. Finally, we assemble everything and add some fuzzy wires for their legs.<br><br>The kids were ecstatic to complete and share their favorite insect with one another!</div>]]></description>

For this project, they decided to make a pasta sculpture!&nbsp;<br><br>Working in pairs, they used various pasta shapes and decided on the sculpture they wanted to make and put it together.<br><br>They also explored making pasta dough and made pasta shapes that they have explored; pappardelle, spaghetti, fusili and macaroni!<br><br><br></div>]]></description>

To conclude the term, the children made use of recycled materials and loose parts to create their very own kitchen. They recapped on the things that are required in a kitchen for food preparation through their representations.&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>The children also attempted to create potato starch from scratch using potatoes, before creating some air clay with potato starch.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Aside from learning food processes about bread and cake the Amethyst children were curious about how Milk is being processed. They were shown a picture of how Milk is being processed and we discussed together how to create an interactive Milk process for their parents to understand and try it out.&nbsp;<br><br>The children made a conveyor belt that they saw happening in the picture of the factory, they made a the farmer's truck that goes to the factory and pretended to be the farmer and even created a small supermarket for the Milk to be packed onto the shelves once it is being transported out from the factory.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Our Ruby friends had a wonderful and enjoyable time during their soap-making journey with their peers! We conducted this activity in a most effective way by getting the children involved and understanding environmental awareness. This eco-friendly soap making activity does not only elevate environmental awareness but also to instill a good exposure from zero waste to worth. Recycling fruit peels such as dragon fruits, lemons and oranges into homemade soap is a great way to create less waste as it utilizes used fruit peels as its raw material.<br><br></div>]]></description>
