The Hong Kong Jockey Club held a National Day Race including 10 racing games on Sha Tin Racecouse to celebrate the 72nd anniversary of the founding of the China. 
 
The National Day Cup, an international grade three race over a distance of 1, 000 meters, was the highlight event with total prize money of HK $3.7 million. Fourteen horses competed for the winner, and Jucai, trained by trainer David Heath and rode by jockey Badu, beat Xianxinxing by four points and three lengths of horse position.
 
A total of 16, 861 people took part in the National Day Race on Sha Tin and Happy Vally Racecourse, and the bet, HK $1.632 billion, was 12.24% more than the same day last season.
