The main causes of nelson wildfire was because it was extremely dry dead grass and someone lit a fire and it caught the grass on fire and quickly spread to the trees and started burning the forrest. Jacinda Ardern said the extension would allow authorities to continue to control the fire. Although fire crews have made some good progress the wildfire was not contained by any stretch of the imagination Fire and Emergency. New Zealand said Wakefield residents have been allowed back into their homes but are on evacuation notice.

Group 2: community

A community meeting was held at 7pm on the 02/04/2019 at Hope Community Church. The community is trying to rally up people to support the people who aren’t allowed in their houses and get more people to control the fire.

Then they are going to have to build new shops and houses and schools for all the ones that were burnt down and they are going to fix everything else that was burnt down.
