Special Education services are unique to each child including, but not limited to: modified or reduced assignments, oral administration on tests and assignments, small group instruction from a Resource teacher, visual or hearing aids, etc. Students that qualify for Special Education services receive an individualized learning plan through the ARD (Admission, Review and Dismissal) process. All students, regardless of race, ability, gender, demographics, or economic background deserve a fair, equitable education. An area emerging in Special Education is the rising need for LEP (Limited English Proficiency) students to receive Special Education services. Many districts are not equipped or staffed to provide Special Education resources in the LEP student's native language.
