We ran into trouble when light was coming through a covered window, the window was only covered by a green green sheet and two set piece boards but list was spilling through the edges. So I found a broken curtain rail behind the set pieces that had black cape attached to it, we then had to get chairs to reach the curtains up and hook it to the top of the set pieces - this made the room virtually dark and meant we could continue with our filming. I used the support ideas sheet I created which meant all my ideas from past and present were on it which allowed me to develop them further as I put them down on to paper, I also had the brief up no screen which allowed me to switch out ideas that I didn't think were appropriate for my target audience. I didn't want to rush the storyboards as I was creating developing the very foundation of my production. When creating the storyboards I looked at industry copies and tried to match their detail but this was difficult as they were obviously created by professional with a deep understanding of storyboard creation and had vast experience before creating them.  

I called up Essex Wild Life Trust about them getting back to me about filming at a location owned by them, they have not been helpful in returning calls or emails and this has meant that our location planning has fallen behind. Over the preproduction and research weeks I had contacted them twice b phone call and once by email and still wasn't getting response so I called again today. I spoke to receptionist and told her the problems I had had getting through to Charlie Oliver (Head of Marketing) and any body else who could tell me what I needed to to do to get permission or if I was denied it. She gave me the personal phone number for Charlie Oliver and sent a email to him on my behalf.

I asked him if he could do my a favour and create our logo so that it is of professional standard and meets the standard of our work. He agreed and I gave him the date that its need to be completed by. 

This was a major break through as it shows that building connections can support your work as now we will have professional designed and created logo/production title animation for free when it would cost hundreds of pounds. I believe this will make our production look more professional and generally attract the audience attention in a positive manner.

We walked around ground of the park exploring its open field areas as well as the forest as both these location could be used for good shots in our production. This location in the contingency plan for the production which is sorted by Ellie Qureshi - producer, her contingency plan means that we always have another way round and obstacles be this location permission problems or filming issues. I have used her document to schedule our filming so that back up locations are close behind the first choice incase their is a major issue. Meaning we won't behind on our filming for very long which contributes to meeting our deadlines. When we walked around the park we realised that there are over 100 cattle around the area in different locations within the park, if filming at night we would have to avoid these locations and most likely film in the wooded areas in order not to spook them as this could put our film crew in danger. I rang Essex Wild Life Trust asking if their had been any news or changes as it was urgent and I was advised that all staff were out of the office at a meeting and she said the best move forward would be to call Charlie Olivers phone number at some point in the day to reach him. I called him and got no answer so I left a voice mail message saying what I was enquiring about and hoping they would get back to me as soon as possible. 

Location permission with large corporation/charities isn't something I thought I would originally, have a problem with as I believed that due t their busy schedules they would at least try to get back to clients as soon as possible in order to maintain order. Today has been very successful as I came in early and complete my storyboards full with as much detail as possible, this was done so I could better schedule the rest of the day. I completed the production schedule which was key to our production as it has a plan of completing which scenes on which days and how many shots are involved. It was difficult picking days to film when everyone could due to the time of night the filming has to take place I also needed to remember to tell a tutor if we were in the next day after filming. I booked out equipment and specialist equipment needed for the first filming session next Tuesday evening sorted the picking up of the equipment out with David Jameson so it is all confirmed and baked up by my group meaning that we won't find it is unavailable if we had done it any later.

Homework:
Over the weekend have to review my job role and responsibilities in order to be fully aware of what my part is to play in this area of the production process. I will also watch through filming videos on youtube to get ready for being the camera operator on the 16th May which is our first filming day , where we will be filming segments of scene 2 at Aubrey Buxton Wild Life Reserve, which is just outside of Elsenham. 
I will also be conducting a Skype call with the team the Sunday before the filming just to go over the plan for the day and how we will accomplish the shots we need to achieve.

Today the team and I had to sort out the storyboard and place the new shots we wanted over existing ones that we either didn't have permission for or didn't have the resources for example the train shot would have been great but Abellio East Anglia wouldn't allow it and therefore we had to change the shot. We did this and replaced the areas with annotations at the side it was a team effort as we had to decide the progression of the project as a team so that we all thought it was a good standard of work. 

We scouted out and spoke to the Harlow play house who allowed us to film up in the corridors of the building as well as in he concert theatre hall tomorrow at 11:00am. This means we won't be coming in to college immediately but instead heading over there to film and returning at lunch time , I have informed the tutor. I went to the Playhouse at 10:45 and spoke to the female security guard about what i had been told she then took me up to the day manager who contact the owner of the Playhouse. Apparently the security guard didn't take it through management properly and therefore we weren't able to film, this means we will have to change our plans as the nearest date we can film there is past our deadline and therefore doesn't fit into the timescale. However we already have a prop we were going to use so we are going to check the drama concert hall to see if we could use it today and therefore our chance to use the prop doesn't go to waste. We went to check the drama building but the doors have a security lock and there was nobody inside so we are going to check back at some point in the day. 

After the unfortunate filming problems i have decided to start editing a trailer with the producer as she has experience with marketing. This gave the liquid a metallic blood look which we were looking for. We filmed a variety of shots from extreme close up to mid and wide shots. We gathered a few people to watch it although because of deadlines for college it was difficult to get a large turn however the all the feedback was valuable and will help us improve our work before the showing. I recored the feedback on my phone on voice memos which are easy to put onto showbie. The most interesting part of the feedback was someone suggesting we use a low base then to build tension alongside the high pitch music box sound. We will use this to improve our work later next week. 

We have lost ground in editing as we have to prepare the rough copy when we were still through editing as we had made various changes after we had been denied filming at certain location however we are having to work past our deadline/time management accident and try and meet it by 5pm. I have given the editor all the footage and he is working tirelessly to try and produce the rough copy. We will then work on it to make it perfect in the next two weeks to come.
