Last year, French was a hit with my class! They were always asking how to say different things in French and as we were learning about shape in Maths, they wanted to know the vocabulary for these. During a Maths input, Primary 1 were introduced to the vocabulary for some 2D shapes. We went on a shape hunt where the class had to identify the shapes outdoors in French.

A couple of years ago, my class were not so confident or keen to use French outwith 'standard' French lessons. I conducted this enquiry to see if I could encourage children to engage and experiment with the language more freely and with more confidence.
