How will FIRST 5 determine funding amounts to offer an organization?

We have two elements – base funding that will depend on how many organizations apply, but likely in the 8k-10k range and scaled funding based on how many members of our priority population you envision serving. We will discuss when developing the contract with grantees, but an example would be 400 for FFN, 600 for priority population FFN.

Will this grant be awarded to a single organization or multiple organizations?

What is meant by the FFN ( Family, Friend, and Neighbor) Community (is this a group of organizations or is it the residents of Santa Clara County) and how does an organization become  a part of the FFN?

This refers to the informal network of agencies and CBO's providing support to the FFN community. Through this grant, all awardees will be a part of a collaborative cohort to discuss FFN engagement, needs, and landscape.

Does an organization have to already be a part of the FFN in order to apply?

While we are looking for agencies with some experience working with FFNs, the grantee group may include organizations who are just starting their FFN work. We would need to see a clear commitment to growing this engagement in the application.

Joyful Learning Educational Development Center, and its Executive Director Amparo Rios, is an early childcare non-profit organization that would like to become a dedicated participant in the FFN Community.  Will our willingness to become a part of a professional cohort addressing improvement in early childcare be a consideration for our grant application?

We will read through each application with care and take all of the information shared into account when considering selection of grantees.

I noticed that the RFA doesn’t specify a funding amount, and I wanted to ask if there’s a general range or target amount that applicants should plan for in their proposals.

We will have a base level funding for the cohort and Common Data File work of approximately 8-10K. From there, depending on how many of our priority population you serve, we will discuss the funding about per individual or QI activity (for example if you wanted to do an event or training as opposed to individual stipends). In the past stipends have been from 400-600 per individual.

With the last cohort of FFNs we had the opportunity to work with, would there be an option for them to participate as mentors or peer leaders to support the new FFNs joining this round?
